2026 Pace and Pedal Event

PACE AND PEDAL DUATHLON

Note: The 4.7 mile running portion of this race is on a non-paved trail. The 10.5 mile bike course will be on paved roads.
*Participants can register individually or as a two-person team (please register together if participating as a team).
*Top Finisher prizes for our new Youth Category; ages 17 & Under!
*A bike helmet is REQUIRED during the biking portion of the race.
*For your safety, no earbuds/music will be allowed during the biking portion of the race.
*Finisher's medal for all individuals who complete the duathlon (including team).

PACE AND PEDAL 5K COLOR FUN RUN/WALK

*Any age welcome to participate!
*FREE for participants age 12 and under! Only $10 for participants age 13 and up.
*Get ready to be sprinkled in color with the 5K Color Fun Run/Walk!
*Please note -- participants have the option of bypassing the color stations if they wish to stay color-free.
*Course is fully-paved and stroller-friendly. No pets please.
*No awards will be given. Self-timed, fun event.

6:30am-8:15am - Packet Pickup and Same Day Registration at Lake Wazee
Note - Registration closes 15 minutes prior to each event start time.

8:00am - Pace and Pedal Duathlon Start

8:30am - 5K Color Fun Run/Walk Start

10:00am - Youth Color Run Start

INCLEMENT WEATHER: Race officials may cancel, delay, or change the race in case of severe weather or other conditions. In the event of cancellation, no refunds will be issued. All events will take place rain or shine. If lightning occurs, times will be backed up in 1/2 hour increments, with cancellation after 2 hours.

COLOR FAQ’s

Is color powder safe?

The colors we will be using are made with high quality cornstarch and food dyes.  All materials are 100% FD&C and/or D&C grade and approved by the US FDA. However the product is not designed for consumption.  If you would like a copy of the Safety Data Sheets please contact (888)-252-6567 or email info@colorblaze.com.

Is it harmful if you inhale it?

Although all the materials are food grade we do not recommend inhaling large quantities of color powder.  Anyone who has asthma, is allergic to any of the ingredients or has any respiratory issues should exercise caution when participating in color powder events.  It should also always be used in well ventilated outdoor space.

Does color powder stain clothing?

Our color powder washes out of most clothing.  However, it can stain some materials.  100% cotton clothing is recommended and typical machine washing with stain remover, removes the stains.  We recommend removing excess powder from clothing before washing and/or applying water.

Does color powder stain skin or hair?

Just as with clothing we recommend shaking off all excess powder before exposing to water.  Normal soap and water should remove color powder from skin and hair.  Some color does tend to linger for a few days especially on blonde hair.  If you are worried about staining, we recommend applying a moisturizer to skin and coating your hair with a small amount of coconut or olive oil before the event.  

Can I wear my own shirt?

Yes, that is fine.  Please wear a white cotton t-shirt if you are planning on being covered in powder.

Can I skip the Color Zones??

Yes, the Color Zones are optional you have the choice of staying on the main path without going through the Color Zones.  The Zones are optional and located at various locations in the grassy areas along the route.  There will be 4 color zones giving you the opportunity to receive as much or little power as you like.

Will there be a color removal station?

Yes there will be a station that you are able to brush the color off of your clothing.

Wazee Lake Recreation Area is located approximately 15 minutes east of Black River Falls. Please allow enough time for travel when planning your departure time. Registration and packet pick-up will close at 7:30 a.m. for duathlon participants to allow the race to start on time.
