5K for Pizza: Jersey City

Ready, Set, Pizza! 🍕 
It's the 1st Annual 5K for Pizza: Jersey City!

Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2026 for a deliciously fun run (or walk!) along the scenic Jersey City waterfront. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just in it for the 'za, this flat and fast course is perfect for all paces. Then, cross the finish line and head straight to our post-race festival, where every participant is rewarded with some of the best local pizza around!

Registration
Each registration includes:

🍕 Participation in the cheesiest 5K around
🍕 Two (2) full-size slices of pizza
         Craving more? You can add a third slice during the checkout process for a small extra charge. 
           (Heads up: extra slices won't be available for purchase after you complete registration or on race day!)

🍕 Top 3 overall men & top 3 overall women will receive prizes
🍕Best Dressed category!
         Come in your favorite pizza attire & be entered to win a gift card to one of the local participating pizzerias

What is included with Registration?

While enjoying the company of likeminded people, you get to run a flat and fast course along the picturesque Hoboken waterfront. Though you don’t have to run for time, we’ll time you just in case you’re into that kind of thing…

• Prior to the start, at packet pickup, you’ll get a custom bib commemorating the event. 
• At the finish, you’ll get to enjoy an epic pizza party where you'll get to devour some local slices.
• We’ll also provide race photos, and have other sponsored giveaways (e.g. water, sports drinks, swag) which are TBD.  

What should I bring to the race?

Bring a smile and yourself!

We strongly encourage participants not to bring bags or additional personal items, outside of what you can run with, to the race.

Will there be "day of" race registration?

At this time, we intend to offer online race day registration, although our events commonly sell out beforehand.

If the race sells out, we will no longer offer race day registration. It’s best to take advantage of early bird & pre-registration to secure entry.

There will be no "in person" registration.

Will there be a bag check?

We encourage participants not to bring a bag, but there will be a bag check for $10 exact cash or Venmo. Card readers will not be on site.

Can I get a refund?

Per our registration policy, we do not issue refunds under any circumstances.

Will you cancel if there is bad weather?

The 5K for Pizza is a rain-or-shine event. However, in the case of lightning or other severe weather, the event may be delayed until conditions improve or, if necessary, cancelled altogether. The City of Hoboken does not provide scheduled "rain dates", and events may proceed in rain, shine, or snow.
In the event of significantly inclement weather (e.g., lightning in the area), we reserve the right to adjust the course, modify event components, delay the start, or cancel the event to ensure participant safety. While we make every effort to avoid cancellation, we may be required to do so by our facility or municipal authorities.
Please note that entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Funds collected are used in advance to plan and produce the event. By registering, each participant accepts this risk.
Our priority is to host a fair, safe, and enjoyable event. All decisions regarding delays or cancellations are made in coordination with local safety officials, including police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel.

Your "packet" will include your race bib, safety pins, and, if additionally ordered at check out, your 5K for Pizza race t-shirt.

• To limit our impact on the environment, Packet Pickup will be bagless.

*We strongly encourage participants to utilize the pre-race packet pickup to help ensure an on time event start.

Race-Day Pickup:
For those unable to pick up early, limited packet pickup will be available on race day.

Proxy Packet Pickup:
Proxy Packet Pickup is available this year during Pre-Race Pickup times! Here's what to do: 

•  INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRANT:
  Provide your proxy with the following items:
  * Copy of your photo ID
  * Copy of your registration confirmation email 
  
  
• INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROXY:
  Please bring the following items when picking up a race packet on someone else’s behalf:
  * A copy of the registrant's photo ID (printout or image on your smartphone)
  * A copy of the registrant's confirmation email (printout or image on your smartphone)
  * Your own photo ID
  
  If you’re picking up a packet for a Youth registrant (under age 18), you don’t need to have their photo ID, just their confirmation email.
  
  
  

The 5K start and finish line, along with check-in and the festival area (packet pickup, pizza, and post-race fun), will be located near the Colgate Clock and 30 Hudson Street, Jersey City, NJ.

🍕 Rideshare & Drop-Off (Uber, Lyft, etc.)

• Please use 30 Hudson St, Jersey City, NJ 07302 as your destination.
• Note that the street directly in front of the venue is scheduled to close around 9:00 AM.
• We recommend arranging drop-off one block away and walking to the event area.

🍕 Public Transit Options

• Hudson-Bergen Light Rail: Exit at the Essex Street station ( ~2 minute walk)
• PATH: Exchange Place station ( ~8 minute walk)
• Ferry: Paulus Hook terminal ( ~3 minute walk)

🍕 Driving & Parking

• Metered street parking is available nearby on first come, first serve basis. 
• The closest and most convenient garage is LM Liberty Parking, located at 33 Hudson St, Jersey City, NJ 07302.

We recommend arriving early and allowing extra time for parking and street closures.
