About Annapolis 10 Mile Run

The Annapolis Ten Mile Run is a 10-mile foot race organized by the Annapolis Striders, Inc., a 1000 member, all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Established in 1978 in Annapolis, Maryland, the club promotes physical fitness and mental well-being through distance running. The race is conducted according to the road racing guidelines of the Road Runners Club of America.

The race has been listed as one of the top ten 10-mile races in the country by Runner’s World Magazine. It is a beautiful run through historic Annapolis and over the Severn River. We celebrated our 50th annual running on August 24, 2025. The Annapolis Ten Mile Run is a 10-mile foot race organized by the Annapolis Striders, Inc., a 1000 member, all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. To the top finishing Anne Arundel County Male. In honor of Ben Moore, long time Annapolis Strider, who passed away in 2008. Ben trained many Striders to run their first marathon, and was active in volunteering at the A10. Based on gun time.

The A-10 has had a long association with AAMC which is nationally recognized for its joint replacement center, emergency heart attack response and cancer care. A leader in women’s services, AAMC delivers the state’s second highest number of births annually and has a Level 3b neonatal intensive care unit.

Maryland Hall provides opportunities for lifelong community participation in arts education, the visual arts, and performing arts.

Athletes Serving Athletes

The Annapolis Striders support Athletes Serving Athletes participation in the A-10. ASA is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering athletes living with a disability across the finish line in mainstream running and triathlon events through the ASA WingMan Program. Each ASA athlete is supported by his or her own unique Team of WingMan volunteers who give their legs and hearts and ” Together We Finish “. ASA provides the athlete and his or her WingMan team with all of the equipment and resources necessary to cross the finish line. Course

Course Map

Course Elevation Profile:

The race begins at 7 a.m. The course starts and finishes at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Portions of the course may be open to limited vehicular traffic. Please follow all course marshal and police instructions. In the event of an emergency where emergency medical vehicles must cross the course, runners will be briefly stopped to facilitate that vehicle's passage.

Race Conditions

This is a hilly course run in the heat and humidity of a Chesapeake August. Temperatures can be 80 degrees at the start with high humidity. Please be sure you are properly trained.

Time Limit

All participants must maintain at least a 15-minute per mile pace and complete the race by 9:30 am. Participants unable to make the 8-mile cut-off time (approximately 9:00 am) will be advised they are no longer official participants and will be required to move to the sidewalk and obey all pedestrian traffic rules. Those individuals who continue despite missing the cut-off time will cease to be official participants and will not receive an official finisher time's or finisher's premium. THE COURSE WILL OPEN TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AT 9:30 am.

You must present a government issued photo ID to pick up your packet. You may designate a family member or friend to pick up your race bib on Saturday only if they have a letter of permission stating that they may pick up your bib and a copy of your government-issued photo ID.

Bibs will ONLY be given to the registered runner on race day. You must have your photo ID or a copy of your ID to pick up your bib number. Plan to arrive before 6:15 a.m. Pick-up lines close promptly at 6:45 a.m.

Race Expo

Join us Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10am-3pm at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for the Race Expo! In addition to packet pick-up, the Expo will feature custom Annapolis Striders Merchandise (including past race premiums at deep discounts), and merchandise from National Running Center, local running stores, and other vendors, clothing sales, displays, and more.

Race Amenities

Premiums

All registrants receive a small item celebrating the 51st annual Annapolis 10 Mile Run when they pick up their bib. All finishers receive the finisher's premium! You must complete the race to receive the finishers premium. They will not be distributed at the expo.

Bag Drop

There is no bag check. The parking area is immediately adjacent to the start/finish area. Please leave your non-running related belongings, including backpacks and bags, in your vehicle. No unattended backpacks or other bags permitted in the start/finish and expo areas! The City of Annapolis Police Department will confiscate any unattended backpack or bag. The City of Annapolis Police Department will also have drug and weapon sniffing canines; if a canine has positive smell on a backpack or bag, the race will be stopped while the bag is investigated. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BACKPACK OR BAGS UNATTENDED. THIS APPLIES TO SPECTATORS AND RUNNERS. The Annapolis Striders support the effort of law enforcement to make this a safe event for everyone. Please do not leave your pet in your car while you race!

Aid Stations & On-Course Support

There are 7 aid stations along the course. Aid stations will provide water and Gatorade.
- Calvary UMC Church, Rowe Blvd (Mile 1.5)
- St. Anne’s Episcopal Church (Mile 2.0)
- Gate 8, Rt. 450 (Mile 3.5 and Mile 9)
- Ferry Farms, Elmwood and Greenbury Point Road (Mile 6)
- Mile 7 Water Stop
- Pendennis Mount, Rt. 450 (Mile 8)

Portable toilets are available at the following mile markers:
- Mile ~3.75: on the runner's left, in the South Severn Pool parking lot
- Mile ~6.5: on the runner's right, at the top of the hill before the turnaround
- Mile ~7: on the runner's left, at the top of the hill after the turnaround
- Mile ~9: on the runner's right, in the South Severn Pool parking lot

Pacers

The 2026 Annapolis Ten Mile Run will be offering free pacing assistance from experienced runners for the following estimated finish times (hour and minute): 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, and 2:00! You do not need to register for pacing assistance. You will have an opportunity to meet the pacers on Saturday at packet pickup, and details from our Pace Captain will be provided as we get closer to the race, including meeting locations on race day.

Post Race

Featuring entertainment from local band Rickshaw Lizard; icy cold beer from Forward Brewing and non-alcoholic beverages; frozen fruit bars, bananas, and snacks; and sales of merchandise by National Running Center.

Race Rules & Policies

In keeping with the A-10’s tradition of awarding a Finisher’s Premium, NO premiums will be distributed at the packet pickup/expo or will be given to any registrants who do not finish the race. You must finish the race and be present to receive the premium. The premium will not be mailed. No exceptions!

NO headphones or earbuds. No wheels (roller blades, bikes, strollers, etc.). No dogs (or cats!). All participants must be at least 12 years old as of the date of the race to enter the race.

All decisions of the race directors are final.

Refunds

There are no refunds for any reason, and no deferrals or transfers will be permitted outside the time periods stated. No exceptions.

UNAUTHORIZED TRANSFERRING OF BIBS, BIB SWAPPING, and BANDITS (non registered runners) are NOT permitted. Please do not run on someone else's bib. It causes timing and award issues, and we do not know who is on the course should a medical emergency arise. Those caught unofficially transferring bibs, bib swapping, or running as a bandit risk future disqualification from the Annapolis 10 Mile Run.

Timing

The race will be electronically timed with a timing chip on the back of your bib. Do not bend or fold your bib number. The bib does not have to be returned. Timing bibs must be worn as directed to be officially scored, and bib numbers must be worn on the torso with the bib number visible.

Field Limit

Race registration will close when 5000 registrants are reached. The race is expected to sell out, so register early! All participants must be at least 12 years old as of the date of the race to enter. If there are spots available, race registration will be permitted on August 29, 2026, at the race expo starting at 10 a.m. The registrant must register in-person and the fee is $125, credit card only, subject to availability. First come, first served while they last!

Transfers

Transfers will be allowed through RunSignup from June 1-July 31. Please follow the instructions found here: https://help.runsignup.com/support/solutions/articles/17000062921. You will have two options to transfer your registration.

1. Participant transfer as a gift. The new participant will pay a $35 transfer fee.
2. Participant transfer for a refund. The original participant will receive a refund, less a $35 transfer fee, upon paid registration of the new participant.

To complete either type of transfer, you will need the new participants First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. The recipient of the transfer must complete their registration by August 16, 2026. If you do not have an intended recipient in mind, we recommend deferring to 2027.

Deferrals

We will be offering deferrals to 2027 this year. The deferral fee will be $35.00. Registered runners for the 2026 Annapolis 10 Mile Run can defer their registration to the 2027 Annapolis 10 Mile Run using RunSignup through August 16, 2026. Instructions for A-10 registration deferral:

- Either sign in to runsignup.com profile and click "Manage Registration" next to the Annapolis 10 Mile Run under "Upcoming Events," OR select "Manage Registration in the confirmation email you received after registering for the 2026 A-10.
- Click "Deferrals” from the menu and follow the process.
- After completion of the process, you will receive an e-mail confirming that you are entered into the 2027 Annapolis 10 Mile Run.

These are the suggested street and intersection closures by location and approximate time based on anticipated presence of the runners. This will be a rolling open/close. The times that the police actually open or close roads and intersections may vary.

NOTE: Traffic will be able to travel in and out of Rowe Boulevard by way of a detour around the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Police will be stationed at the Rowe intersections (Farragut Road/Rowe Boulevard and Herbert Sachs/Rowe Boulevard) to direct people.

  • Taylor Ave. between Cedar Park Rd. & Rowe Blvd. – Closed to traffic until 7:50
  • Cedar Park Rd. between Taylor Ave. & Farragut Rd. – Closed to traffic
  • Farragut Rd. – Closed to traffic (except for St. Paul’s Lutheran church traffic)
  • Rowe Blvd. – Southbound lane from Farragut to Taylor – Closed to traffic
West Annapolis/Taylor Ave. Area (7:30 – 9:30 a.m.)
  • Taylor Ave from Rowe Blvd to Baltimore Blvd – closed from 8:15 to 9:30
  • Intersection of Rowe Blvd. at Taylor Ave. – Closed to traffic
  • Taylor Ave. south of Rowe Blvd. – Detour around the Stadium using Farragut Rd. and Cedar Park to go toward West St. or re-enter Rowe Blvd.)

  • Rowe Blvd. between Taylor Ave. & College Ave. – Inbound (SE bound) lanes closed to traffic between 7:15 and 7:45
  • College Ave. – Closed to traffic between Bladen St. and Church Circle
  • Church Circle – North portion of Circle between College Ave. & Main St. closed to traffic; southern portion of Circle remains open to traffic
  • Main St. – Closed to traffic until 8:00
  • Randall St. – Metered traffic between Compromise St. and USNA Gate 1 from 7:00 until 7:45
  • King George St. between Randall St. & Baltimore Blvd. – Closed to traffic
  • College Ave. at King George St. – Closed to traffic entering King George St
Naval Academy Bridge Area (7:30 – 9:15 a.m.)
  • Southbound lane of Route 450 from King George St. to Route 648 – Metered traffic in to/from Liberty Housing
  • Northbound lane of Route 450 from King George St. to Route 648 – Closed to traffic
Pendennis Mount/Ferry Farms (7:30 – 8:45 a.m.)
  • Northbound lane of Route 648 from St Margarets Rd. to Greenbury Point Rd. open to metered traffic only – one direction at a time (7:30 a.m. to 8:40)
  • Southbound lane of Route 648 from St Margarets Rd. to Greenbury Point Rd. closed to traffic (7:30 a.m. to 8:40)
  • Route 648 from Route 450 to Ferry Farms – Closed to traffic
  • Route 648 north from St Margarets to dead end closed from 7:30 to 8:45.

 

To access USNA during the race:

From 0600-0800:
  • Take Rt 50 to Exit 23A MD-2 South / Solomons Island Rd.
  • Exit on MD-665 East / Aris T Allen Blvd and proceed for 2.5mi.
  • Take a left onto Bay Ridge Ave and proceed for 1.5mi.
  • Take a left on Sixth St, cross Spa Creek, and follow police instructions to access Gate 1. ONLY CREDENTIALED DRIVERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PROCEED TOWARD USNA GATE 1.
After 0800:
  • Take Rt 50 to Exit 23A MD-2 South / Solomons Island Rd.
  • Take a left on West St and proceed through Westgate Circle.
  • Drivers can access USNA Gate 1 either via Randall St or King George St.

The 2026 Annapolis 10 Mile Run will again offer live runner tracking! Participants, family, and friends can all use Live Tracking to share in the excitement. On race day, spectators can see your status in real-time using the Live Tracker & Leaderboard. Details such as time, pace, position on the map and estimated finish will be instantly available! This will also be where you can find the official race results with times and division places.

The closest airports are Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood-Marshall Airport (BWI) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Public transit is not available from the airports to Annapolis.

Driving

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is conveniently located right off US 50 in Annapolis, MD. Take Exit 24 Rowe Blvd toward Annapolis, and the stadium will be on your right after 1 mile.

Lodging

Multiple hotels are within walking distance of the start/finish area at the stadium: The Westin Annapolis (410-972-4300), Graduate Annapolis (410-263-7777), the Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis Downtown (410-990-1100), Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Annapolis (443-598-8261), and Residence Inn by Marriott Annapolis (443-598-8260). There are also many bed and breakfasts in the downtown and harbor area, which is about 1¼ mile from the start/finish.
