About BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament presented by Wellpoint
Partnered with the Boston Bruins Foundation, the Healing Heroes Foundation is the host of the country’s largest first responder hockey tournament, the BFit Heroes Cup. The BFit Heroes Cup is a weekend long event designed to bring firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement, and military members together to raise money and awareness for multiple charities. With 110 teams, 2,000 players, and 10,000+ spectators, the mission of the Hero’s Cup Foundation is to promote first responder mental health.
Requirements:
All team members must be active or retired fire, law enforcement, EMS, dispatch, or military.
First responder ID is required at registration and throughout the tournament weekend.
Divisions A, B, C, D with subdivisions as needed.
Teams will play:
3 games between Friday and Saturday
Sunday Playoffs:
Semi-Finals: 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3
Championship: Winners will play for a $1,000 donation to a charity of their choice
Fees and Registration:
All tournament fees and fundraising will be done on this site.
Fee: Team buy-in $2,500 (just $155.00 per player at a 16-person roster).
This will cover ice times, referees, score keepers, and the tournament entry package.
Deposit: $500.00 due March 5th, 2026.
Fundraising: If your team raises $2,500 above the $2,500 registration fee, you can select the charity the funds will be donated to. If less than $2,500 is raised, the funds will go to the Healing Heroes Foundation.
Top fundraising teams will qualify for additional incentives.
Registration is first come first serve so please submit your registration to reserve your spot in the 2024 BFit Heroes Cup.

The Healing Heroes Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the mental health of first responders and military members. By bringing together firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, EMS personnel, and military members, the Foundation aims to foster a sense of community and provide financial support to individuals and mental health organizations serving these populations.

Fundraising Help
Fundraising Dates & Guidelines 2026
January 5, 2026: Registration opens
March 5, 2026: A $500 non-refundable deposit is due. This deposit secures your team’s spot. Failure to pay may result in your spot being offered to a waitlisted team.
April 5, 2026: A $1,250 minimum fundraising payment is due. If your team withdraws by this date, you are eligible for a 50% refund of your funds raised (minus the $500 deposit). Teams that withdraw after this date are not eligible for any refund. Failure to pay may result in your spot being offered to a waitlisted team.
May 5, 2026: The $2,500 buy-in fee is due. This is also the deadline for the team incentive to pick your own game times.
May 25, 2026: Deadline for the remaining team incentives and all individual incentives. Decisions are final and will be made at 12:00 AM on this date.
June 5-7, 2026: BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament.
July 5, 2026: Final fundraising deadline.
If your team raises $2500 above the $2500 registration fee, you can select the charity the funds will be donated to. If less than $2500 is raised, the funds will go to the Healing Heroes Foundation.

If donors are writing checks for fundraising, please have them write checks payable to the: Boston Bruins Foundation, specify your team, and deliver to address below. Please include a note or memo stating which team/ individual the funds should go towards. Also, if it is just a general donation towards the event please state that.

Spectator Information
The BFit Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament presented by Wellpoint is open to spectators! While door donations are encouraged, the tournament and resources such as the Mental Health Goal Line presented by Eastern Propane are free to watch and enjoy all weekend long at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA. While you take in the tournament, you can also commemorate the weekend with merchandise from the BFit Heroes Cup Official Merchandise presented by March & Mill, Co. Parking in the Sport Center parking lot is also free. In addition to the hockey games, mental health wing, shopping, and opening/closing ceremonies, spectators can enjoy:
- Food Trucks
- New this year, Healing Heroes Foundation and the Boston Bruins Foundation are working hard to get a couple food truck options available in the parking lot throughout the weekend. Confirmed trucks so far include Chick-Fil-A and Raising Canes. If you know or are a business who is interested in also having a food truck presence during Heroes Cup Weekend, please email directors@healingheroesfoundation.us
- BFit Heroes Cup Rinkside Rally presented by AvalonBay
- This year will also feature a kid’s zone! Outside, in the grassy area next to the parking and RV lots, there will be some inflatable activities for families to enjoy!
- BFit Heroes Cup Tailgate Zone presented by First Class RVs
- Certain teams/team members each year opt to stay on-site at New England Sports Center in the First Class Fundraiser Zone! This lot is typically a high-volume hang-out area during tournament weekend with families, friends, and teammates all eating, chatting, and playing games at the BFit Heroes Cup Post-Game Party with DJ CJ!
