About Blackbeard's Revenge 100 Ultra & Relay
Blackbeard’s Revenge 100: Ultra Marathon on the Outer Banks
Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 is one of the most unique ultra marathons on the East Coast—a 100 Mile, 100K, and Relay race held March 21–22, 2026, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This point-to-point ultra takes runners, ruckers, and relay teams across the entire length of the OBX, from Corolla to Hatteras, along 100% paved coastal roads. Expect wind, salt air, and a finish line celebration like no other. Whether you’re chasing your first buckle or adding another ultra to your logbook, Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 is a race that tests grit, builds community, and creates unforgettable stories.
Why Run Blackbeard’s Revenge 100?
Participants travel from across the country to take on this OBX ultra marathon. Here’s why:
- Epic Distances – Choose the 100 Mile (Corolla to Hatteras), 100K (Nags Head to Hatteras), or team up for the Relay.
- Unique Coastal Course – A fully paved, point-to-point route with endless ocean views, notorious winds, and legendary pirate bridges.
- Pirate Spirit – Every runner adopts a pirate name for their bib. Costumes, signs, and salty humor are part of the tradition.
- Inclusive Atmosphere – Solo runners are joined by relay crews, ruckers, and Ainsley’s Angels chariot teams. Whether you’re racing the clock or savoring the miles, you belong.
- Community & Camaraderie – Runners, crews, and volunteers become one big ultra-pirate family.
- Finish Line Celebration – Cross the line at Hatteras and raise a glass at The Wreck Tiki Bar.
- Ever-Evolving Experience – Each year, the race improves based on runner feedback, with a virtual post-race happy hour to gather ideas.
What to Expect on the Course
The Outer Banks are as unpredictable as the sea. One year it may be 80 degrees, the next it may be 20. Winds can shift from calm to brutal in minutes. The road is flat, but it stretches endlessly, testing your resolve and your mental grit. Runners don’t complain—they expect the challenge and embrace it. As race director Libby Swor says:
“The race is salty, and treacherous, and fickle. And no one’s complaining: they expect that, and understand they’re there for the challenges.”
The Pirate Experience
This isn’t just an ultra marathon—it’s a full-on pirate adventure. Runners (a.k.a. Ultra Pirates) pick their own pirate name for their race bib, meaning you might be chasing down Captain WeirdBeard, running alongside Mad Molly, or finishing next to Luke the Lionheart.
Who Should Run?
Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 welcomes a wide range of athletes:
- Seasoned ultra runners chasing a buckle or podium.
- First-time 100 Milers looking for a flat but mentally tough challenge.
- 100K runners ready to step up their distance.
- Relay teams eager to share the miles with friends.
- Ruckers and chariot teams adding their own determination and grit.
This race is approachable for back-of-packers and exciting for competitive athletes—everyone is part of the same ultra-pirate crew.

100 Mile Course Details
The Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 mile race course will take you from Corolla, NC on the Outer Banks all the way to the roads end at The Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras. The course is an easy to navigate race with very few turns, miles marked every 5 miles, 18 well-stocked aid stations, confidence markers throughout, easy to access bathrooms and amazing views. This is not a race that will beat you up with extremely elevation change as there are only a few hills on the entire course, and those are the bridges. The LACK of hills and never ending road spread out in front will play mind games, and the potential for gusty sandy winds will be your main competitors. Athletes will share the road will vehicles, but there are options along a lot of the course for paths in lieu of running on the white line. This is a must do event, and a beautiful experience.
This is a course map on Strava. You can view the course and elevation, as well as download a GPX file from this link to use with your running watch.

100K Course Details
The Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 Kilometer event will start at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head and head South to the Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras! Runners will run along the sand strewn road with ocean on the left and sound on the right. This is a flat course with the only hills being a few bridges early on in the race. But that lack of elevation change brings its own issues. The lack of hills means athletes can see miles in front of them, and they will have to contend with sandy wind, and whatever the outer banks weather brings us! The course has very few turns and is well marked. Mile markers will be placed every 5 miles, as well as confidence markers throughout. Aid stations are extremely well stocked and spread out throughout the race. This 100 Kilometer course has an extremely generous cutoff time making the course manageable for first timers!

2025 Captain's Log (Race Recap)
Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 2025 – A Weekend for the Books! 🏴☠️
This past weekend, the Outer Banks became the battleground for one of Trivium’s most iconic adventures—Blackbeard’s Revenge 100. From the first steps from Historic Corolla Park and Jennette's Pier to the final footsteps at The Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras, it was a race weekend full of grit, heart, and true Ultra Pirate spirit.
Day 1 greeted us with clear skies and sunshine—sweet revenge on the wild storms of 2024. The later miles brought a fierce dose of OBX wind. But that’s the nature of ultra running: unpredictable and unrelenting—and our runners, volunteers, and crews rose to the challenge.
This year, our race drew a wide-reaching and adventurous crew—with participants hailing from 34 U.S. states, from California to New York, plus two Ultra Pirates from Hawaii and even one from the Netherlands!
⚓ 228 athletes came from North Carolina,

We were also thrilled to see just how inclusive this year’s race truly was—welcoming not just runners, but a rucking relay team and four incredible Ainsley’s Angels teams. These teams brought energy, determination, and joy to the course and reminded us that there are many ways to take on a challenge. Their presence made the weekend even more meaningful and inspiring.
We couldn’t have pulled this off without our incredible volunteers and crew members, who brought passion, kindness, and tireless effort to every mile of the course. From the earliest aid stations to the final finishers crossing the line at 1:30 PM on Sunday, they were there lifting spirits and keeping things running smoothly.
Special thanks to our presenting local legends:
📦 SurfBox – Their portable storage containers made our aid stations safe, secure, and wind-resistant havens for runners, volunteers, and supplies.
🍹 The Wreck Tiki Bar – The ultimate finish line and post-race celebration, where runners were welcomed with cheers, hearty meals, and well-earned toasts. Their crew kept families, friends, and finishers fed, entertained, and fully in the spirit of the weekend.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the support of other local partners who helped bring this event to life: Avon Fire Department, Duck Pizza, Rodanthe KOA, Sweatalilbit, and Tide & Tonic. Whether providing food, energy, safety, or much-needed motivation at aid stations, their contributions were a key part of the Blackbeard’s Revenge experience—and helped every Ultra Pirate push forward.
Thank you to everyone who made Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 a weekend to remember. Whether ye ran, rucked, relayed, cheered, or volunteered—ye were part of somethin’ truly special. Until next year, Ultra Pirates… fair winds and strong legs! ⚓🔥

Crew Tip Tuesday Ep. 5: Volunteering, Crewing, and Holding Down the Fort
With Captain Gammie Glowfingers and Currituck Katie
January 9, 2026
In this episode of Crew Tip Tuesday, Captain Gammie Glow Fingers is joined by Currituck Katie, longtime Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 volunteer and Volunteer Ambassador, to talk all things volunteering, crewing, and showing up when runners need it most.
From gripping tents in gale-force winds and breaking into stuck porta-potties, to sunscreen emergencies, dad jokes at mile 60, and the shared dread that somehow turns into shared pride—Katie shares what volunteering at Blackbeard’s Revenge really looks like. We dig into how volunteers support runners emotionally and practically, why crewing and volunteering can (and should!) overlap, and what makes this race’s volunteer community so special.
You’ll also hear:
How Katie got involved in ultra volunteering (and why she keeps coming back)
What volunteers actually do beyond “handing out snacks”
Why aid stations are never boring (no, really)
The toughest and funniest moments she’s experienced
Why community, grit, and enthusiasm keep volunteers coming back year after year
How to sign up to volunteer for Blackbeard’s Revenge 100
Whether you’re crewing, volunteering, racing, or just curious about what happens behind the scenes on the Outer Banks, this episode is a must-watch.
From Whim to Heartfelt Tradition: Lois’ BBR 100 Volunteer Story
January 22, 2025
*2026 Update: Lois and Jim are back and they're covering three Aid Stations this year. Legends.
I volunteered on a whim two years ago. I live on the Outer Banks and saw a post looking for volunteers. I have never raced, in fact don’t even run at all. Are you kidding me?
I knew nothing about races or racing. But I was willing to volunteer.
I volunteered at an aid station at Eckner St. in Kitty Hawk. The morning started slow and I was there with one other volunteer who was certainly more experienced than I was, thankfully. She was able to get times, and I was the cheerleader and passed out what I could. We were a limited station but if people really seemed like they had a need, I had things in my car and pulled them out! I started talking to these racers, learning about them and trying to support and encourage them, especially if they were running without a support system. This was actually fun!!!
The sun was beating and as the morning went on, it was hot!
These racers were so appreciative of this person, me, no racing knowledge AT ALL, just doing the best I could to support them in any way I could.I was rewarded ten fold by them!
I left there feeling the gratitude of complete strangers and made a few friends! Race Ambassador Luke and I are the prime example.
Last year (2024), I dragged my husband along and told him, “This volunteer experience will leave you feeling so appreciated!” We volunteered at two aid stations. We were in Duck early on and on the other side of the bridge at the turn around! As it became dark, the weather got worse. We just kept singing and cheering but my heart sunk thinking of everyone having to go back across the bridge.
We had met a pediatrician from NY and she asked if she could come in the U Haul with us. We pulled her up and got her warm and gave her a break. She was alone; her husband and children had stayed home. I contacted her the next day and she made it to mile 70 before hypothermia set in. We had talked several times that day. I make these bonds. I try to find something in common with the racers. I am a nurse and had worked in pediatrics so we found our comfort level.
At the end of the race, my husband and I rode up to the finish line. We were so excited to see the last racer, sweet James from Yorktown VA, as he crossed the line. James had a great support system but we still had such a good time with him at the bridge! We hugged him and I left with big ole tears in my eyes!!
I love volunteering for this race! These racers have such a piece of my heart! I would encourage anyone to volunteer for just a few hours.
Luke and I see each other once a year, at the race, but we communicate all year long. Our common bond started with hockey and me being from Pittsburgh originally. His daughter plays hockey and the Pittsburgh Penguins are one of her favorite teams! This race created a bond and friendship that I value immensely!
Each year gives me the opportunity to meet and make new friends
With appreciation,
Lois Longo

FAQs
If you have any questions that you can't find here or in the Athlete Guide, please reach out contact us!
The Athlete Guide with all race weekend details can be found here: https://runsignup.com/Race/BlackbeardsRevenge100/Page/athleteguide
1. Can you provide examples of acceptable reflective vests? I have one but am afraid it’s too much vest. I have nox gear lights but am worried about that and my vest.
Any vest can do, don't think about it too much. Most running vests these days have some form of reflective fabric on them. The better option is to find a vest, or clothing you like and just add front and back reflective tape to it. This will ensure you are using what is most comfortable to you, but also something that makes sure you are visible. Lights are not enough.
2. Is there plenty of parking at start?
Both races have plenty of parking available at start lines. The only thing to keep in mind, is that if you plan on your car being at the 100 mile start line overnight you will need to park across the street in the beach access parking. The park will not allow cars overnight and has threatened (never followed through with) tickets. Shuttles will not be going back to the start line after the race begins.
3. Do all relay members need to check in at 4 am and be at the starting line at 5 am? Or is it only leg 1 who needs to be at the 4 am check in and start line at 5 am?
No, only the first runner needs to be at the starting line.
4. Do we pick up our own race packets for the relay or does the team captain pick them all up and we have to get our items from them?
Anyone from the team can pick them up. If not everyone comes to packet pickup, we will just need to do gear check at the start line with the crew members who didn't show up. Or the crew member who picks up can bring gear check for everyone.
5. Can we park our cars at the start?
Yes. The only thing to keep in mind, is that if you plan on your car being at the 100 mile start line overnight you will need to park across the street in the beach access parking. The park will not allow cars overnight and has threatened (never followed through with) tickets. Shuttles will not be going back to the start line after the race begins.
6. Any veteran tips for combating the sand that will end up in socks and shoes?
Ultimately this comes down to personal preference. 1st, work on having a plan for application of anti chaff cream or powder. 2nd, if you are extremely sensitive to sand use gators. 3rd, having extra socks and shoes on hand in drop bags always helps. Switching our for a fresh pair is always an easy solution.
7. Equipment requirements?
Refer to slide four of the Athlete Guide.
8. Will the aid stations be roughly similar to what’s listed in the 2025 race guide that’s online?
It is very similar to previous years, but check the current athlete guide for updates. We have added a few manned aid stations and some additional foods. We do reserve the right to switch foods (if something is in short supply we might supplement. Or if it is exceedingly hot or cold we might swap a hot or cold food out to help athletes). The current aid station guide can be found here.
9. Pacers can begin at what mile?
0.000000001 miles as long as they have signed up online and have a pacer bib!
10. Will we have Hüma Brand gels again this year?
Yes
11. Is the pre-race dinner included with registration? Can I add on dinner for my family, friends, and crew?
The pre-race dinner on Friday is included with registration, but you need to RSVP “yes” in your registration to reserve your ticket for the final head count. If you skipped this step during registration, you can log back into your registration to add on your ticket. Additional tickets for family, friends, and crew can also be added onto your registration for $20 each. Please see information here on how to do so.
12. Will there be a pre-race day group shakeout option on Friday?
No
13. Will there be food at the finish line?
Of course, matey! The 2026 finish line is being sponsored by The Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras. They will have a race-specific menu and bar available all night with special post-race refreshments for our runners! Your crew are welcome to hang out there while they wait!
14. Will there be an awards ceremony?
With how spread out the field is, and with how spread out pirates select their lodging along the Outer Banks, we present awards at the finish line as you finish. Please check with the timing tent for your award if you are uncertain. Award categories may be found here.
15. How can you prepare for the mental approach of running through the night along the side of the road?
The night is when you’ll find a lot of pirates packing up and heading out together from aid stations. The night hours can be a lonely and mentally exhausting journey— but if you mentally prepare for it, you’ll be ready, matey! Make small goals throughout the night section to break it up. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a longer break at aid stations if you need more time to recharge before heading back up. Join our virtual clinics for more tips from veterans.
16. I assume it will be dark at the start, but lights are not required until sundown later in the race?
Yes, lights are required for any time it is dark or raining hard.
17. The lights and back ups only need to be with you at dark, so can they stay in a drop bag?
Yes, that is correct. Just make sure you leave yourself some wiggle room to get to them before it gets dark again. You'll need a second set if you want to do this; we're not transporting your first drop bag ahead to a later aid station; it's going to the finish line.
18. Reflective vest are required for daytime as well?
Recommended during the day, but not required. It gets hazy, foggy and sandy, so reflective gear makes sense.
19. There is gear check and packet pickup on race day morning. So can I just do the virtual pre race meeting and and no need to attend the evening before?
Yes, that is correct.
20. Size of drop bag?
sized 20”x24”x4”
21. Flavor tailwind listed on aid stations?
Mandarin orange, raspberry (caffeinated), naked (unflavored), Dauwatermelon (watermelon)
22. I didn't add a shuttle to the start line when I signed up. Am I still able to add it?
Yes, you are able to add the pre-race shuttle to your registration until March 19, 2026 but following instructions here. More information regarding the shuttles may be found here.
23. I don't think I'm getting your emails.
We send a comfortable amount of emails; we want our runners to be informed and safe. If you haven't received one from us in over a month, especially if we're three months or less out from race day, you may be missing them.
- Have you checked your Spam folder?
- Have you check other folders your email provider "kindly" created for you and "conveniently" filters your mail into, like Promotions, Purchases, Updates, etc.?

How SurfBox Storage Kept Blackbeard's Revenge 100 Afloat
Weathering the Storm: How SurfBox Storage Kept Blackbeard's Revenge 100 Afloat
2024's Blackbeard's Revenge 100 Ultra and Relay has undoubtedly secured a spot in the history books. Ultra and relay pirates endured some of the most treacherous Outer Banks conditions we've faced yet. Battling against relentless winds and the looming threat of flooding in the southern portion of the course—a situation that could have led to road closures and stranded runners—our crew was in a dire situation just days before race day.
But like true adventurers, our crew and captains refused to be defeated. We swiftly charted a new course to ensure the safety of all participants. Instead of docking in Hatteras as planned, Corolla was the new destination for the finish line. Even with these course updates, we weren't in the clear just yet. This change brought with it a new set of challenges, particularly in providing adequate shelter for aid stations along the revised route with weather still a threat.
That's when SurfBox Storage, OBX / NENC—a crew of seasoned sailors—answered the call and saved race weekend. As a veteran-owned business, their commitment to service and excellence shone through. With their sturdy storage units doubling as aid stations along the course, SurfBox Storage provided a haven for runners, volunteers, and crew members alike. As the winds howled and the rain poured like Blackbeard's wrath, these strategically placed aid stations became sanctuaries of warmth and protection, shielding ultra & relay pirates, volunteers, and crew. Without the SurfBox Storage's units, the aid stations and our pirates and crew would have been defenseless against the elements.
The partnership between Blackbeard's Revenge and SurfBox Storage embodies the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration that runs deep in pirate legend. Through unwavering commitment to service and excellence, SurfBox Storage played a crucial role in ensuring the success and safety of the event, turning what could have been a shipwreck into a story of success where Blackbeard's Revenge 100 saw the lowest dropout rate yet, despite these epic Outer Banks conditions.
We extend our sincerest gratitude to SurfBox Storage for their invaluable contribution. For more information about SurfBox Storage and their services, visit surfboxstorage.com. Join us in celebrating this successful partnership and stay tuned for more exciting adventures on the high seas.

⚓ If ye’ve raced with us before—share yer favorite Blackbeard’s photos!
⚓ If ye’re joining us for the first time—share a training pic or show off yer finest tricorn hat.
⚓ Make sure ye follow Blackbeard's Revenge on Facebook or Instagram. Then tag yer favorite three scalawags in the comments (to run, to drink, to plunder—yer choice).
We’ll pick three winners to receive loot (prizes listed below) from Blackbeard's and our finish line celebration location, The Wreck Tiki Bar. Contest runs Thursday, Sept. 18 at 10 am through Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11:59 PM EST.
Choose from either (a complementary pre race 100 Mile or 100K shuttle ticket, BBR travel mug, BBR buff, or BBR flag) and either (a complementary second post-race drink at The Wreck or a complementary appetizer at The Wreck).
And if ye really want to get in the spirit:

Light Suggestions
Mandatory Gear:
- 2 headlamps or flashlight with extra batteries, if applicable
- 1 reflective or light-up vest
- 2 red flashing rear lights with extra batteries, if applicable
The purpose for this gear is:
- Headlamp/flashlight - you can see the terrain
- Reflective/light-up vest - cars can see you
- Red flashing rear light - cars can see you when coming up behind you (Yes, you're running against traffic, but we want you to be safe.)
Gear Suggestions
From past participants and Trivium staff.
Headlamps
- "I’ve had many headlamps through the years but this Nitecore is SUBSTANTIALLY better than any other ones I’ve used. You will see expensive headlamps that are heavy and cost A LOT and only work for a year or two. Not this one. The bungee cord is super light and make it easy to throw on or around any headgear. The battery life is amazing as well. All for around $25, I think they are doing Black Friday deals too." - Tim H.
- Petzel high quality, high lumen headlamps - Trivium Staff
- Amazon high lumen, value headlamps - Trivium Staff
- Noxgear Ranger Chest Light - 500 lumens
Red Read Flashing Lights
- Red Flashing Rear Light - Trivium Staff
Reflective and Light Up Vests
- Amphipod Reflective & Light Up Vests - Trivium Staff
- Noxgear Reflective and Light Up Vests - Trivium Staff
Light up vests do not fulfill the headlamp requirement. If they have a red flashing light option on the back then they can fulfill the red rear flashing light requirement.

Race Ambassadors
This isn’t your average ambassador program. At Blackbeard’s Revenge 100, our Ambassadors are the heart of the race—the ones who shout the loudest, cheer the hardest, and remind the rest of us why we signed up in the first place. They’re runners, ruckers, crew chiefs, chariot teams, and volunteer captains. Some are chasing buckles. Some are your newest best friend and loudest supporters. All of them are chasing something real. The 2026 Ultra Pirate Ambassador Program is about connection, community, and helping others find their way to the starting line (or your aid station). Let's meet the Crew!

Things to do on the Outer Banks
Ahoy, Matey! Are you making a vacation out of race weekend? Head on over to the outerbanks.org for things to do, restaurants, additional places to stay, and events happening throughout race week. Click here for an Outer Banks travel guide and here for a virtual tour of The Outer Banks.

Here are some blogs we recommend checking out:
1. Top 10 Things to Do: https://www.outerbanks.org/things-to-do/top-10-things-to-do/
2. Top Things to Do with Kids on The Outer Banks: https://www.outerbanks.org/things-to-do/top-things-to-do-with-kids/
"Consistently ranked one of the best family beach vacations there is something for everyone of any age. Family-friendly beaches include rolling sand dunes to run down and the legendary Big Kill Devil Hill, in what was then the town of Kitty Hawk, where the Wright brothers first took flight. The spot is still popular for kite flyers, especially at Jockey’s Ridge, the East Coast’s largest sand dune (your kids will love this place!). If your family includes a dog, you’ll be right at home on the beaches of The Outer Banks, where there is an endless amount of things to do with kids." Click here to read the full blog.
3. Outer Banks Bucket List: https://www.outerbanks.org/bucketlist/
"You can start planning a full year’s worth of bucket list “firsts” for you and yours to complete once you arrive on the Outer Banks. We enjoy the title of America’s First Beach, and rightfully so (the country’s first national seashore, the English’s first attempted settlement in the New World, man’s first powered flight, and more), so make your upcoming trip a vacation of firsts. You’ll be rewarded for stepping outside your comfort zone. This year promises adventures for doers and dreamers." Click here to see the complete list.

Ahoy, get ready for a look into this Outer Banks adventure, matey! Below you can view experiences from previous Blackbeard's Revenge 100 finishers. "100 Miles with Mom" – A Blackbeard's Story
Published in UltraRunning Magazine, this piece by race ambassador Steven Epifano captures what makes Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 so special.
When Steve’s original race plan changed, his mom stepped in—running farther than she ever had and sharing 50 unforgettable miles together before he finished the full 100. Their story is full of grit, love, and the kind of connection only an ultra can bring.

1. Suzy Goodwin: 2020 (virtual), 2023, & 2024 100 Mile finisher
"
"I signed up for Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 after reading The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter. In his book, he describes the concept of 'misogi'. Misogi is a Japanese term that broadly means taking on a challenge that pushes you to your limits and forces you to confront your fears, doubts, and weaknesses. I trained for this race back in 2020 and it was COVID-canceled a week prior. Ended up doing it virtually (here’s my recap, which includes an audio journal on my now-retired podcast). This year wasn’t necessary for redemption; I was satisfied with my virtual experience. It was about doing something hard on purpose..." Read Suzy's 2023 Blackbeard's Revenge 100 recap here.
"Even days after the event, I can’t even really mentally categorize it as a 'race' because the conditions made it so far beyond any challenging race I’ve ever done (including the exact same event last year). This is the only race in my life (72 marathons, 10+ ultras including two other 100 milers) where I didn’t know if I’d finish." Read Suzy's 2024 Blackbeard's Revenge 100 recap here.

Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 2026 Finisher Buckle & Medal
100 Mile Buckle
A true pirate’s treasure, this 3D antiqued gold buckle captures the spirit of the high seas and the grit of 100 miles. Measuring 4.5" wide by 3.25" tall and 6mm thick, it features the Blackbeard logo, compass, banners, and rope detailing, each elevated at different levels for depth and dimension. Its antiqued, distorted texture gives it a weathered, time-worn feel—like something pulled straight from a sunken chest. Classic 100-mile style, reimagined for the Ultra Pirates.
100K & Relay Medal
Inspired by a pirate’s doubloon, this antiqued gold, 3D medal carries the same bold Blackbeard logo and compass design as the buckle, raised at varying levels to create texture and depth. With an antiqued, distorted finish and a 4.5" diameter at 5mm thick, it’s solid, weighty, and unmistakably pirate—proof that you’ve earned your place among the crew.
Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 2026 Participant Shirt
Lightweight, technical, and ready for the long miles—this gender-specific, long-sleeve, quarter-zip tech shirt was built for Ultra Pirates. Featuring a sleek line-art version of the Blackbeard’s Revenge logo and subtle compass detailing, it captures the spirit of the open seas while keeping you comfortable mile after mile. Logos from Trivium Racing and The Wreck Tiki Bar run down the sleeves—a nod to the crew that keeps this adventure afloat. Perfect for training, racing, or wearing proudly while swapping stories of the storm you conquered while celebrating at The Wreck.
Below is the size chart for the participant shirt. The chart is in centimeters. These are running about a size larger than typical sizing, so we recommend comparing the chart against a shirt for which you know you like the fit. If you need to change your size you can do so in your RunSignup participant account by follow the instructions at this link.
Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the torso.
Chest: Measure the comparison shirt laying flat from where the sleeve connects to the shirt (armpit area) to the other side.
Shoulder: Measure from the seam where the sleeve is sewn to the torso on one side to the other.
There can be a centimeter of variance, especially when you're comparing different styles of shirts.

Don’t miss the extras—swag awaits!
Plunder the loot and claim your add-on gear before it’s gone!

Who We Run For
Every Ultra Pirate runs for something bigger than themselves—family, friends, causes, and communities. This wall honors the people and organizations at the heart of each journey, with fundraising links to support their missions.
Madison J. · North Carolina · 100 Mile
For Madison, the Outer Banks is more than a race course—it’s a second home. Every July, her family gathers from across North Carolina and Virginia for their reunion on the OBX, a tradition that has tied her to these shores since childhood.
This March, she’ll return to those same roads and bridges with a new purpose: To take on her first 100-mile race while honoring causes that run close to her heart. Madison is running in memory of fallen law enforcement officers, raising awareness for suicide prevention, and proving what’s possible despite living with a physical disability.
Her journey is one of courage and connection—linking the miles between her family memories, the community she runs for, and the Ultra Pirates she’ll soon call her crew.

Aid Station Chart
Last Updated February 2, 2026
As we continue to grow Blackbeard’s Revenge, we have worked closely with our athletes and other events to improve our aid stations. In 2024 we reduced the number of manned aid stations but drastically increased the offerings at each of those stations. The unmanned aid stations will have water, Tailwind Hydration, and Hüma gels. The manned aid stations will have a combination of foods from different nutritional groups - ie. fruit, salty, fiber, sugar, substantive calories, etc, - as well as water, Tailwind Hydration, and Hüma gels. Later in the race, easy to digest hot foods such as broth will be at every aid station.
Due to the nature and location of our aid stations, some options for food are not available for this race. This is a point-to-point race with each aid station in a unique location, many of which are remote and sandy/windy. We are not able to have one giant aid station with tons of food and drink options like many looped ultra courses. Athletes who have run with us before have requested more food options be individually packed to cut down on sand blowing in the food and to increase ease of eating on the run. In order to do this, we are limited in the types of food we can provide.
If you have specific dietary restrictions or allergies not met by the aid station food, please plan ahead and make use of your drop bags and crew. Each aid station will have signs noting common allergens present in the food at that station. Volunteers can also share food lables if you need more information.

Click the link below for a PDF version of the Aid Station Chart.
Aid stations will be stocked with Tailwind Nutrition.

Pre Race Shuttle
We will be offering a pre-race shuttle to athletes who need a ride to the start line on race day. Participants in either distance can park their car at the finish line and take the shuttle to the start line before the race. Shuttle tickets will be $35. Please click here to follow instructions on how to add the shuttle if you have already registered.
- 2:45 am - Check in at finish line for 100 mile shuttle
- 3:00 am - Shuttle departs for 100 mile start line
- 7:40 am - Check in at finish line for 100km shuttle
- 8:00 am - Shuttle departs for 100km start line
