The 50th Annual Bluegrass 10,000 and Fun Run will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The starting line is on E Main St. in front of the Central Lexington Public Library.
2. What races are offered and what are the registration fees?
Bluegrass 10,000 Run (10K): $40
Bluegrass 10,000 Push Rim Race (10K): $40
Bluegrass 10,000 Hand Cycle Race (10K): $40
1 Mile Fun Run: $27
VIRTUAL Bluegrass 10k Run/Walk: $27

5. When and where can I pick up my race packet?
Dates and locations for 2026 Packet Pick have not yet been announced. Packet pickup will be available on several dates and locations leading up to the race. Details will be available on the event website's "Packet Pickup Dates & Locations" page. Please note that packet pickup on race day (July 4th) is limited to out-of-town participants or those with prior approval. Reminders for packet pick-ups will be emailed to participants before the first and last pick-up dates.
6. What is the race day schedule?
The tentative schedule is as follows:
7:25 a.m.: Wheelchair Race
7:30 a.m.: Bluegrass 10,000
8:30 a.m.: Fun Run
9:00 a.m.: Awards Ceremony for Overall Winners
9:30 a.m.: Additional place and age category awards pick-up
10:00 a.m.: Festival Begins at Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza
12:00 p.m.: 4th of July Parade on Main Street
7. Is there a time limit for the Bluegrass 10,000?
Yes, due to the Lexington 4th of July Parade starting at noon, all Bluegrass 10,000 participants must be cleared from the course by 10:00 a.m.
8. Where can I find the course maps?
Course maps for both the Bluegrass 10K and the Fun Run can be found on the event website under the "Courses" section. You can also find an interactive map on the "Bluegrass 10,000 and Fun Run Dynamic Map" page.
9. Is there prize money for the winners?
Yes, a $500 check is given to each male/female 1st place Bluegrass 10,000 winners for both the foot race and each wheelchair division.
10. Where should I park?
Recommended parking includes street parking and LexPark garages. Parking in LexPark metered spaces is free on July 4th, excluding the surface lot at 168 North Upper Street, whose parking spots and meters remain subject to enforcement 24/7 regardless of holidays or weekends. Please note: the Rupp Arena lot is not a LexPark lot.

Form or Join a Team and Save $5
Teams of 5 or more get a discount on their registration fee. When you register, click on the "GROUP/TEAM" button and set up a new team and invite your friends. The first 4 people on the team will register for full price. Once the 5th person registers, the first 4 people will each receive a refund and any new registrations will get the discounted price.
Race Day Parking Information
Recommended parking includes street parking and LexPark garages. Parking in LexPark metered spaces is free on July 4th, excluding the surface lot at 168 North Upper Street, whose parking spots and meters remain subject to enforcement 24/7 regardless of holidays or weekends.

Day of packet pick up starts at 6:00am

All participants must be cleared from the course by 10 a.m.
The Lexington 4th of July Parade is set for 12:00pm. If a participant has not passed mile marker 5 by 9:30 a.m. they will be asked to finish the race on the sidewalk.
