About Boise Marathon

Welcome to the Boise Marathon. The Boise Marathon will offer the summer option for our marathon series. June 20th promises to be one of the longest Boise days. Sunrise is at 6.04 a.m. and while Sunset is scheduled for 9.30 p.m., you know that Boise sun can hang in the sky until late into the evening. We can't imagine a more perfect day to run our Summer Marathon.

DISCLAIMER: Boise also likes to offer multiple weather seasons throughout a June day. We'll promise the sunrise/sunset time, not sure about what season.

Marathon Series:
  • Spring - Boise River Marathon - May 2, 2026

  • Summer - Boise Marathon - You found it!!!

  • Fall - City of Trees Marathon - October 10, 2026

  • Winter - Boise Half Marathon - November TBD 2026

Courses:

One of the most scenic courses in the country located in beautiful Boise, Idaho. You will wander through canyons, trees, riverside neighborhoods and some of the prettiest parks in the country!

Great Swag:

We'll follow our usual recipe of race production to include our coveted race shirt (we're thinking of something other than the t-shirt hoodie for this race), sweet swag, and finisher food/drink. ALL participants will get a finisher's medal. Please note that registrants registering within 2 weeks of race date may not be guaranteed a shirt. (We'll do the best we can. We're cutting off registrations once we think we can no longer get you a shirt or a medal. Medals are easy... but we don't know what shirt size folks are until they register so there's no way to know. Thanks to all who register early!!!)

Another race put on by team SoleKIDs. (www.solekids.org)

The Courses Intro (updated June 11, 2025)

We love this river. A water flow that originates from the snow-capped peaks of the Sawtooth and Boise mountains, our race courses will get you intimately close to the sounds of the river as it winds through a rocky canyon and melts into an urban setting. We do reserve the right to make changes as we can't be boring. Our summer series will bring you from Lucky Peak State Park back into downtown Boise.

The half marathon and full marathon courses have large sections with minimal shade and that relentless Boise sunshine. Runners take additional steps to prepare for additional hydration and sun protection. These items may include but limited to include hydration vests, hats, sunscreen, etc. Out of town runners should note the 2700' elevation and the associated high desert climate.

Our races our NOT certified courses, however we do follow the same USATF processes for measuring. Meaning, we measure using rulers, jones counters and the "wheel." We promise your watch will beep when you pass our Mile Markers.

DISCLAIMER -  The Boise River is wild in the spring and who knows what it will throw at us in May / June. We stay in constant contact with Boise Parks and Rec, the amazing folks in Garden City, City of Eagle and City of Eagle Parks and Rec and Ada County and ACHD and ITD, to determine any potential safety risks associated with our courses. If we need to make a change at any time, we will do so. And let's also remember how much EVERYONE around here is doing an amazing job making improvements to the Greenbelt. At anytime, we will stay out of their way.
