Boxers & Briefs 5k

Join us for a run in your skivves! That's right, get creative and plan to join us for 3.1 miles of running in your boxers and your briefs, over your clothes, under your clothes, or just as your clothes.  

This race will start and finish at the Broadlands Community Center in Broadlands VA.

Participants will have the choice of choosing a pair of slippers or a long sleeve pajama style shirt PLUS our 2026 Boxers & Briefs 5k medal presented to runners at the finish line! 

We will also collect NEW boxers and/or briefs to donated to a local group supporting those in need.

We're shining a spotlight on Rocky Cares a local non profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding to support Ewing sarcoma research for a cure support a cure.

The 5k will start at 9 AM from Broadland Community Center (43008 Waxpool Rd) in Ashburn, VA.

Boxers & Briefs 5k offers the opportunity for the community to move, and help us shine a spotlight on those in need in our community.

Brief Support $250

- Opportunity to brand water station in company colors with branded tablecloths etc.

- Company to provide a minimum of 4 volunteers to support water station on course.

- Opportunity to provide a “fun station” on course to include race related giveaway (example, pre-packaged snack, fun toy like bubbles, sunglasses, etc.).

Parking is available just across Waxpool Rd at Eagle Ridge Middle School (42901 Waxpool Rd), the tennis courts, and the small shopping center off of Waxpool Dr.

When parking at the tennis courts or Eagle Ridge Middle School, please utilize tunnel for safely crossing Waxpool Rd.

No parking will be available at the Broadlands Community Center.

Cancellation policy: 
This event is rain or shine. Should the need for cancellation occur, the event will be converted to virtual. Runner swag will be mailed to the address provided at registration and a link for posting 3.1 mile times will be provided via email. 

 

We will make every effort to host this event. Cause for cancellation could include, snow resulting in unsafe streets, Loudoun County directive, lack of registered runners to meet fiscal responsibilities.

Packet pick up & race day registration: 
- Race day, March 21, beginning at 7:45 AM (race starts at 9 AM)
- You will be picking up your bib only, your swag will be available for pick up at the finish line.

NOTE: Packets not picked up at packet pick up on race day, will not be mailed. March 11 is the last day to switch to virtual. 

 

Awards will be given to the overall male (boxers) and female (briefs), second place overall male (boxers) and female (briefs), as well as the top two male (boxers) and female (briefs) winners in each 10 year age group for the 5k.

Costume Awards:
Creatively wear you undies as a "costume" over you clothes, under your clothes or just as your clothes, and be eligible for an award! 

 

Team Awards: Make it a group thing!

Awards will be given to the largest team, as well as the fastest team. Fastest team time will be taken from fastest 4 team mates and must include one male (boxers) and one female (briefs). 

5k course will start and finish at the Broadlands Community Center in Ashburn VA. Course will take you through the neighborhood streets of Broadlands and bring you back to the finish line. Your swag and finish line celebration will be waiting! 

5k course will be open for 60 minutes.

 

Rocky Cares

Who we are:
Rocky Cares was founded by Rocky's family and friends who were inspired by her courage, resilience, and positivity in the face of a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. Rocky was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma at the age of 13 and she battled for five years undergoing countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, surgeries, and experimental treatments. Despite the challenges and hardships, Rocky refused to let cancer define her narrative. She excelled academically, athletically, and gave back to her community. She was the best friend to many and touched the lives of a community.

 

Our Mission:
Rocky Cares is a nonprofit organization created in memory of Rocky Elardo, a bright, beautiful, and brave young woman who lost her battle to Ewing sarcoma in February 2024. Rocky Cares aims to honor Rocky's life and legacy by raising awareness and funding to support Ewing sarcoma research for a cure; providing an annual scholarship to senior(s) at Heritage High School that embody Rocky's qualities of intelligence, athleticism, and kindness; and spreading Rocky's sunshine throughout the community.
