RACE DAY ACTIVITIES
Easter Egg Dash
The Easter Egg Dash is a 5K race (3.1 miles) that loops around the Butler Senior and Intermediate High School Campus. Medals will be given to the top 3 male and female overall runners in each age bracket: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-39, 40-59, and 60 and over. The overall top Male and Female runners will be awarded a plaque. The race will begin approximately at 10:00 AM. The award ceremony for the Easter Egg Dash (5K) will be held at the conclusion of the 5K race on the Stadium Field.
Note: Walkers are permitted to participate in the 5K event, but they must finish within the 60-minute timeframe.

Bunny Hop
The Bunny Hop is a 1-Mile course (recommended for fun) that is a single loop on the Senior High School Campus. This course is designed for runners and walkers. The Bunny Hop will begin approximately at 11:00 AM.

The start and finish for both races will be located on the track in the Art Bernard Stadium. The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will start at the conclusion of the 5K at approximately 11:00 am.
**NO STROLLERS WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE STADIUM TRACKS AT BOTH THE IHS AND SHS.**
Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, ages 10 and under, will occur after the Bunny Hop Fun Run/Walk. The Easter Egg Hunt will be located at the the Art Bernardi Stadium on the Senior High School Campus. There will be 5 separate egg hunts (2 years and under, 3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds, 7-8 year olds, and 9-10 year olds). Kids will be able to search for eggs. Some eggs will contain candy while others will be awards for surprise grand prizes, so come ready for some fun! The Easter Egg Hunts will begin at approximately 12:00 PM.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Online Registration
Online registration will be accepted up until 4:00 PM on March 27th.
Race Day Registration WILL BE AVAILABLE
*RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE CASH ONLY, EXACT CHANGE IS APPRECIATED*
Race Day Registration will be available on April 12th at the Art Bernardi Stadium at the Butler Senior High School. The Easter Egg Dash (5K) race day registration will be open from 8:45 am – 9:45 am. The Bunny Hop (1 Mile Fun Run/Walk) will be open from 8:45 am – 10:45 am. The Best Buddies Easter Egg Hunt registration will be open from 8:45 am – 11:50 am.
PRE-REGISTRATION CHECK-IN AND PACKET PICK-UP
Pre-Registration Check-In and Packet Pick-up will only be provided on race day from 8:45 am until 10:50 am at the Art Bernardi Stadium (next to the Butler Senior High School).
TIMING
Electronic chip timing will be provided by “Miles of Smiles” timing services. Results will be posted on Miles of Smiles Timing Services Homepage and under the results tab found on our site.
PARKING
The Intermediate High School parking lot and the lower Senior High School parking lot will be available for parking. There will be no parking on Campus Lane, as this is part of the course.
ABOUT THIS EVENT
This event is being held by the Butler Senior High School's Best Buddies chapter. Best Buddies is an international organization that promotes inclusion among people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Best Buddies pairs students in one-to-one friendships and creates opportunities for students to interact and include one another in a variety of activities throughout the year. The Best Buddies organization creates multiple learning opportunities and provides job placement programs for our students. By participating in these events, you are helping to fund the Best Buddies program at the Butler Senior High School. Our chapter currently has 150 members and 33 pairs of students in one-to-one friendships. We hope to see our chapter continue to grow and to make our school more inclusive.

What do the proceeds from this race benefit?
The Eggstravaganza is a fundraiser that benefits the Best Buddies Program at the Butler Senior High School.
Are there any awards for the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk?
No, there are no awards for this event. It is meant to be just for fun. However, the event will be timed for those that wish to view their results.
Are pets allowed at the event?
No. Pets are not permitted at the SHS stadium.
Can I bring a stroller?
Yes. However, strollers are not permitted on the SHS or IHS stadium tracks. Strollers can be used for any part of either the 1-Mile or 5K race course that is not on the track. Strollers can be left on the outside of the track for the track portion of the course and can be utilized again after those sections are completed.
Can you register on the day of the event?
Yes. Participants can register on the day of the event. Registration for each event ends about 15 minutes prior to each event start time. Race day registration is cash only. Exact change is appreciated.
Do children who register for the Bunny Hop or Easter Egg Dash get a Race Shirt?
Race shirts are NOT included for any child (10 and under) that registers for the Easter Egg Dash (5K) or Bunny Hop (1-Mile Fun Run/Walk). Children (ages 10 and under) will receive a discounted rate for the event. Additionally, they will be able to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt for free. More information can be found below.

Easter Egg Hunt
$5 per participant
The Easter Egg Hunt is ONLY offered for children ages 10 and under on the day of the event. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE REGISTERED FOR THE EASTER EGG HUNT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT. Race shirts are not included with the Easter Egg Hunt registration. The Easter Egg Hunt is free for those children that have paid and registered for the Bunny Hop and/or Easter Egg Dash. If children aged 3 and under register for either the Easter Egg Dash or Bunny Hop, they will not be charged for the event, but will be charged the $5 for the Easter Egg Hunt. A discount will be provided at checkout.
Should I bring a bag for the Easter Egg Hunt?
Yes. Race bags are distributed first to 5K and 1-Mile participants. If there are extras, race bags will be offered to Easter Egg Hunters, but will not be guaranteed. We recommend bringing a bag with you to ensure that your child is ready to roll!
How does the Easter Egg Hunt work?
The Easter Egg Hunt is held at the SHS stadium. The Easter Egg Hunt will occur in three waves. The stadium field is divided into 2 sections. The first wave is the 2 and under and 3-4-year-old egg hunts. The second wave is the 5-6-year-old and 7-8-year-old egg hunts. The last wave is the 9-10-year-old egg hunt and will utilize the entire field. Some Easter Eggs will contain small prizes, while a few lucky egg hunters will have eggs that contain slips of paper that are associated with a grand prize! All eggs are collected at the conclusion of each egg hunt. Lucky winners will need to report to the prize station with their slip of paper to claim their grand prize.
When will the Raffle Basket Winners be announced?
Raffle Basket winners will be announced in between the three Easter Egg Hunts.
When will the award ceremony take place for the Easter Egg Dash (5K)?
The award ceremony will take place after the last runner/walker completes the 5K and before the 1-Mile begins. Runners will be asked to report to the end zone where the Easter Bunny will hand out plaques and medals.
Are you allowed to walk in the Easter Egg Dash (5K)?
Yes. However, only 60 minutes have been set aside for the 5K race. All walkers must complete the course within a 60-minute timeframe. Please use your best judgment.
Can you participate in both the Easter Egg Dash (5K) and Bunny Hop (1-Mile)?
Any registered 5K participants can participate in the 1-mile free of charge. However, you will not receive a 1-mile bib for timing purposes on the 1-mile event.
Will I receive a refund if I cannot attend?
The Best Buddies Eggstravaganza does NOT process refunds for events.
Will my results be posted?
Results will be posted on the race page under the "Results" tab.
Are roller skates, rollerblades, skateboards, or bikes allowed?
No, due to safety concerns roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, or bikes are not permitted.
What are social race teams?
You are able to create a social race team to recognize your group and/or family that would like to participate in the event. Social race teams are not associated with any discounts. They are to be just for fun!
Are wheelchairs permitted on the tracks?
Yes.
