Clinton Road, infamous for its eerie legends and haunted reputation, becomes the ultimate backdrop for a chilling challenge. Runners will test their speed, stamina, and courage as they race through shadowy woods, foggy stretches, and the unsettling silence of one of New Jersey’s most mysterious roads.

• Zombie Crawl: This walk/run is guaranteed to get you moving. Grab your missing limbs and hit the road for a brisk "tour" of Clinton Road. Come costumed and ready to show that the undead don't stay dead. 

• 5k: A fast-paced sprint through the haunted forest, perfect for beginners or thrill-seekers. 

• 10k: The full endurance test—only the bravest survive the whispers, shadows, and lurking zombies. 

🎃 Atmosphere 

• Zombie volunteers line the course, ready to chase, cheer, and spook runners. 

• Haunted aid stations with eerie lighting and themed refreshments. 

• Finish line festival featuring music, costumes, and awards for best zombie runner.

Clinton Road is a roughly 10-mile long, isolated road in West Milford, New Jersey, notorious for its ghost stories and paranormal legends, making it a popular destination for thrill-seekers. The road is home to various spooky tales, including the spirit of a drowned boy who supposedly returns coins tossed into the stream from the bridge at "Dead Man's Curve," as well as reports of phantom headlights and a phantom truck.   

Location and length

Clinton Road is located in West Milford, Passaic County, New Jersey.  
It spans approximately 10 miles, running north to south from Route 23 to Upper Greenwood Lake.  

Ghost stories and legends

1. The Ghost Boy of Clinton Road: 
   The most famous legend is of a boy who drowned in the creek under the bridge at "Dead Man's Curve". If you throw a coin into the water, his ghost will reportedly throw it back at you.  
2. Phantom Headlights: 
   Drivers have reported seeing headlights appear out of nowhere and follow them before vanishing.  
3. Phantom Truck: 
   Some legends mention a phantom truck that is said to chase drivers.  
4. Other tales: 
   Stories also include a haunted abandoned boy scout camp and alleged rituals by KKK members and Satanists at the ruins of a former castle.  

Why it's infamous

The road's isolation, winding layout, and dense tree cover create a gloomy atmosphere.  
It has been featured in publications like Weird NJ magazine and has inspired a 2019 horror film.
