Connor's Way Scenic Memorial 5-Mile Run/Walk

Come follow in Connor’s footsteps on a beautiful scenic five-mile wooded trail in the foothills of the Adirondacks.  Celebrate the beauty of nature as you run or walk through five miles of seasonal roads and trails.  Follow in the shadow of the young man who loved to run around the lake and the woods of Hinckley for the love of running.  Celebrate life, nature and community as you help fund a memorial and scholarship in Connor’s name, touching lives of future local doctors.  This is “Connor’s Way”…

All proceeds will go to the scholarship and memorial fund created in memory of Connor Arthur Lynskey.  Connor aspired to be a physician and his dream was to practice medicine in an underserved area in order to help residents receive adequate health care.

Our mission is to continue to provide students and medical students with a scholarship program, with your financial support and through our memorial run/walk in Connor's name. 

Our 5M race will be held on Sunday, September 20th at 10am.  The virtual event will go on from September 20th-26th.  Registration is online only, no paper or cash accepted.  

Try our kids fun run, an untimed event beginning at 9:30 am on race day. Free shirt included with registration through 9/4 only. 

For all events, if you register after 9/4, there are only a limited number of shirts available per size.  If there are no longer shirts available in a particular size, it will be noted as "SOLD OUT".  Virtual Event participants who register by 9/4 will receive their shirt by race day.  Virtual Event participants who register after 9/4 will receive their shirts in mid to late October.

With the generous support of our friends and community, Connor’s Way 2024 was a huge success! Our annual event raises funds for scholarships for area youth and provides assistance to needy families, all in memory of Connor Arthur Lynskey, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 2018 at the age of 18.

This past year, 27 scholarships were awarded to students at 14 different schools in Oneida and Herkimer counties. In the past 7 years, over $65,000 in awards have been distributed to area high school students who excelled in academics and athletics/character, as well as a tradesman scholarship awarded in memory of Joey R. Ventura. The high school scholarship program is administered by the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties. More information on that program is available at www.foundationhoc.org/connor. Memorial scholarships have also been awarded at Upstate Medical University to pre-med students enrolled in the Rural Medicine MD Program, the same program Connor had been accepted into.
