Corny 5k & 1 Mile Run/Walk

Join us for the Corny 5k & 1 mile run/walk. During corn and wheat harvest time, we are holding this event to help raise funds for the restoration of First Lutheran Church. Our church building is 100 years old this year in 2026 and we are fundraising for various repairs and updates. 

Please come and join our a-mazingly corny event! Wear your corniest outfit and enjoy our corny family friendly atmosphere.

1. Is this a road race or a trail race?
   1. The Corny race is a trail race.  The National Pike Trail starts in Claysville and runs through multiple tunnels along an old railway
2. It is often hot in August. How many water stops will you have?
   1. For the 5k, there will be 3 opportunities for water.  At the .5 mile mark, at the turn, and then ~2.5 mile marker.
   2. For the 1 miler, there is a water stop at the .5 mile mark. 
3. Will the tunnels have lights in them?
   1. The lighting project that the National Pike Trail has been working on is now complete - there will be lights in the tunnels!

Packet Pickup will be held  the morning of the race from 7:15am to 8:15am.

Restrooms will be available at the start/finish line.

All participants who register by August 1st are guaranteed to receive a commemorative race t-Shirt and Swag bag!  

Participants who register after August 1st will receive a shirt if still available so be sure to register early.

Overall Awards: 

• Top 3 Male 5k Runners win some corny items!
• Top 3 Female 5k Runners win some corny items!

Age Groups: The top finisher in the 5k in each age group will receive a corny gift!
