Fishbein / YMCA Community Road Race

Almost 50 years ago, Johanna Manfreda Fishbein started a tradition in Wallingford that would grow and change significantly over the years, bringing organizations throughout the town together to collaborate in an effort to support residents in need.

The Wallingford Family YMCA is proud to continue this tradition as host of the annual Fishbein/YMCA Community Road Race on Sunday, October 4 in collaboration with Celebrate Wallingford.

Note: Registration for this event is only available online and will remain open until 8:30AM on race day. Once you have registered, your race bib may be collected at advance packet pickup or on race morning. On Race Day, please allow plenty of time to park, check in and be ready to run at 9:00AM

Entry Fees

• 5K Race - 19+ Yrs - $30 before Jan 1, $35 from Jan 1-Oct 1, thereafter $40
  • Race shirt included for first 200 participants - sizes by availability
• 5K Race - Under 19 - $5 (No shirt provided)
• 1 Mile Youth Race - Under 14 (Parents, Guardians & Teachers are welcome too!) - $5
• Healthy Living 1K Walk - $10 (FREE for LiveSTRONG at the Y participants)
  • Walk shirt included for first 100 walkers - sizes by availability
• Note:
  • Reduced 5K entry fee for under 19 will be shown at the checkout.
  • Shirts will be available to purchase the day of the race for $10, if available.

• Early Bib Pickup - Friday, October 2
• Race Day Check In Opens at 7:00AM
• Youth Race & Healthy Living Walk Start - 9:00AM
• 5K Run Start - 9:10AM

• Awards will be given to top three overall M/F 5K Race winners
• Top finisher in each 5K Race age category

The Wallingford Family YMCA is a charitable organization, with a mission to strengthen the foundation of the community through programs, services and relationships that build a healthy spirit, mind and body. All proceeds go towards our Community Support Campaign, which funds LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, our cancer survivor program, as well as providing much needed financial assistance for all our programs and services. As a non-profit organization, the Y relies on contributions from members and other friends to promote the healthy development of all regardless of their financial means. 100% of each contributed dollar goes to subsidize the cost of programs for children, families and seniors and to give financial assistance to those who need it.

RUNNERevolution is a 10 week program that will get you to your goal of running (or walking) a 5K no matter what your fitness level! If you can walk, you can do it!

Run your first 5K or set a new personal best with the help of running coach Cat Aniballi-O’Hurley. With both in-person & virtual training, you'll get an individual training plan which allows you to pick when you run!  This program will allow you to train on the days most convenient for you - you can train whenever you are able to. Be a part of RUNNERevolution or RUNNERelevation and receive one FREE registration for the 2025 Fishbein/YMCA Road Race! 

Program features:

• Initial group Zoom call to meet Coach Cat and learn how the program will be run
• Individual training programs uploaded & accessed through the Final Surge app (Laptop or Cell) that allows you to adjust the workouts to meet your schedule.
• Option for once a week in person running group
