Global Running Day 5K!

Celebrate Global Running Day with a 5K brought to you by the Toledo Roadrunners Club in partnership with Metroparks Toledo!

ALL kids 12 and under are free and should stay with guardians during the 5K. Children and families are welcome!  

5K starts at 6:30pm.  Also consider joining us at Kids Kilometers on June 6.  Registration link - Kids Kilometers

The 5K course at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark was funded and mapped by the Toledo Roadrunners Club!  Let's enjoy it together!  It is an all purpose paved trail, great for all ages and abilities.  The course consists of an upper loop (approximately 1.7 miles) with the balance being an out and back.  If you don't want to run or walk the full 5K, come out and complete 1.7 miles!

The event is $5.00 for Toledo Roadrunners Club members and $10.00 for non-members.  $13.00 unisex cotton blend shirt add-on (see shirt below).  Shirt guarantee ends on May 24.  Online registration only.  Online registration will be open until the start of the event.  During registration, you'll be prompted to fill in "I Run ..."   Let us know why you run!  Have fun with it!  It is optional.

Check-in at the Mary Jane Gill shelter.  Check in starts at 5:30pm.  The shelter is located south of the playground.  Use the parking lot off Airport Highway.

There will be a clock set up. There are no awards.

Water and snacks will be available at the conclusion of event.  There will also be some giveaways!

Do to the low cost and the t-shirt being an add on, race insurance is not offered for this event.

Mercy Health – Toledo will provide onsite medical support.

Thank you for registering for the Global Running Day event at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark!  Here are a few reminders and some information.

Please check-in at arrival starting at 5:45pm.  Check-in will be at the Mary Jane Gill Shelter (South side of the main parking lot).  See map link button.  If you ordered a shirt, you will receive at check-in.  There is no pre-race day check-in/shirt pick-up.5K Run Starts at 6:30pm

5K Run/Walk is the 5K course funded by a Toledo Roadrunners Club grant given in 2018.  Mile markers were recently added.  It consists of a loop and an out and back.  Start and finish are near the Mary Jane Gill Shelter.  There is one water stop around just before 1.7 miles.  When running or walking the 5K course, please stay to the right to avoid oncoming traffic (runners).  The map displays the course as the brown Walk/Bike Path.

The park is open to the public during the event.  Please be respectful of other runners, walkers, and cyclists.

If we have timing, it will be with electronic hand timers and popsicle sticks.  Places based on gun time.  There are no awards, but enjoy the snack table!  If you plan to walk or run the 1.7 mile loop only, please do not finish under the arch or take a popsicle stick.  For those that complete the 5K, take the popsicle stick handed to you then head to scoring table so your place can be recorded. Give back the popsicle stick please!
