Second Saturday in May in Tupelo can only mean...Gum Tree 10K

 7:30am start!

Started in 1976 as an out and back challenge on the Natchez Trace Parkway the second Saturday in May has become a Tupelo tradition entering it's 3rd generation! Bring your friendly, leashed, vaccinated dogs and register to run with them in the new Strut Your Mutt Fun Run! Stay after the race with your family and friends and enjoy the Mississippi Market bringing over 50 art and craft vendors and food trucks right to Fairpark!

AWARDS

Cash prize winners in overall, masters (40yr+), grandmasters (50yr+), great-grand masters (60yr+) are not eligible for age division awards. 

Cash awards will be presented to Top 4 finishers in each age division starting with age group 25-29.

Over $3,000 in cash prize money will be given to the following winners in each age group 25 and older both Male and Female:

Note:
1. The acceptance of prize money will affect an athlete’s amateur status.
2. Prize money will not be awarded to anyone under age of 25 due to eligibility restrictions. 
3. Each division must have at least 2 competitors or no prize money will be awarded.

Commemorative medals will be given to all 10K finishers.
Every entrant (who registers online by Friday, April 22) receives a Gum Tree T-shirt.

Awards, including cash prize, not picked up on race day morning are considered forfeited.
Winners of cash prizes must fill out required paperwork at the awards ceremony.

OVERALL WINNERS vs MASTERS WINNERS

In the event that a master’s runner wins first place overall, he/she will receive the OVERALL money and award but not the master’s money and award.

In the event that a master’s runner wins second place overall, she/he will receive the SECOND PLACE overall money and award, but not the master’s money and award.

In the event that a master’s runner wins third place overall, he/she will receive the THIRD PLACE overall money and award, but not the master’s money and award.

Gum Tree 2025 has a fast, flat USATF certified course (MS12001MS), with excellent traffic control and experienced teams of organizers that will make this weekend one of great fun. Runner’s World has even named it Mississippi’s best and one of the top 75 runs in the nation. The 10K run will be the same course as it has been the last 9 years. The City of Tupelo and the neighbors of Joyner are always excited to have "their runners" come through the neighborhoods.

10K Route

This is a walker friendly course with a 2.5 hour time limit allowing for 24 minute per mile pace.

Exit 86A for US-45 S toward Tupelo.
Exit toward Main St/US-278 W/MS-6 W.
Keep left at the fork to continue toward E Main St.
Turn right onto E Main St.
Destination will be on left .4 mi.

Directions from Corinth, MS

Take US-45 S.
Take the exit toward Main St/US-278 W/MS-6 W.
Keep left at the fork to continue toward E Main St.

New to Gum Tree 10k family...bring your dog to come run with you!  With a short fun course they can join you on this untimed fun run! All proceeds from the fun run go to benefit Tupelo Lee Humane Society.  Afterwards stick around and socialize your doggo with your Tupelo neighbors and enjoy all that Gum Tree 10k is bringing to Fairpark this year!

Gumtree 10K will use ChronoTrack timing technology. To get an official race time and be included in results, participants MUST wear a bib number with timing device on front of body so they can be validated at the finish on camera.  (see below) The B-Tag technology allows for precision and timing accuracy in road racing performance.
