Hair of the Bear 15K & 5K

ShawneeCraft Brewing Co. Presents the Hair of the Bear 15K & 5K!  A fun and memorable tradition continues as we celebrate our 7th annual "Good Day for a Run" race located in the beautiful and tranquil Pocono Mountains...Begins and ends at Shawnee Inn and ShawneeCraft Brewing Company's amazing property.  Perfect for all ages, beginners, and seasoned runners....Register today! 

The Run:

• Professionally Chip-timed Races Start at 9 AM 

• 2 Courses:

  • 5K Course is 90% paved, well marked, and takes place on property and neighboring roads of Shawnee Inn. Walkers and children welcome to participate and must be registered for the safety of all runners & walkers. (Time Limit - 1 Hour for 5K)

  • 15K Course Starts/Finishes at the Brewery. Includes about 5 miles on the beautiful and well maintained McDade Trail system along the Delaware River, plus approximately 4 miles of paved roads. (Time Limit - 2.5 Hours for 15K)   

• Water Stations and Course Marshals at important course locations  

The Post Race Fun:

• Race finishers enjoy a Brunch Buffet provided by Shawnee Inn - INCLUDED!

• 1 Complimentary ShawneeCraft Beer (Age 21+) Soda available at finish for <21.

• Live Music in the Brewery that begins at 9:45 AM and continues after awards until noon

• Award Medals for Top 3 Overall and Age Group Male & Female Winners (14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, and every 10 yrs)

• No Jogging strollers allowed for 15K. Strollers are permitted for 5K only.

• Race Day Packet- Pick-up 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM. Races start at 9:00 AM. 

Following are important race day details for The Hair of the Bear 15K and 5K. 

• Date and Time: April 6th at 9am
• Location: ShawneeCraft Brewing Company located at 100 Shawnee Inn Drive, Shawnee on Delaware, PA
• Check-In: 7:30am-8:30am on race day.
• Start Time:
  • The 15K starts at 9am
  • The 5K starts at 9:05am

• Course Notes: The 15K course starts and finishes in front of the brewery with the 1st and last 2 miles (4 total) on pavement and the middle 5 miles on the McDade Recreational Trail - which is well groomed/hard packed (off-road) terrain. The 5K is 95% paved. 
• Timing and Results: Overall winners are based on Gun Time. Age group winners are based on Chip Time.
• Results will be available immediately on this site by clicking the RESULTS Tab.
• Awards: Top 3 Overall and Age Groups will receive an award. Awards are presented at ShawneeCraft Brewing Company at approx. 11:30am. 
• After Party: There will be a breakfast/Brunch for all 15K and 5K finishers at the finish line. Brunch Option. Plus we will have live music and 1 complimentary Beer available at the Brewery. We hope you can stick around and enjoy some time after the race. 
• Swag: All runners will receive a shirt, finisher's medal, and pint glass on race day.
• Water: There will be water available at miles 2, 4.5, 7, and the finish line.
• Free Downloadable Photos will be emailed by Monday afternoon.
