We are closely monitoring weather conditions, and we hope to make final decision on the state of the event by tomorrow -mid-morning, 2/21.  Please check back for the latest updates. An email will go out to all pre-registrants with the race status info.

We are excited to announce new date for the 43rd Hangover 5k Run -
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2026 at 10 a.m.
A detailed email to all registered participants will go out later this afternoon.

Dear Participants,

Out of an abundance of caution, due to unfavorable course conditions and expected snowfall in the morning, the 43rd Hangover 5K Run scheduled for tomorrow has once again been postponed (NOT cancelled).

A new event date will be determined after coordinating with our partners in the city government and service providers and will be shared as soon as it is confirmed.

Many of you have contacted us regarding hoodie pickup. Updated details on hoodie pickup will be provided once the new event date has been finalized.

We are equally frustrated and completely empathize with you regarding this news; however, we cannot compromise the safety of our participants. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

We are closely monitoring weather conditions and are working in coordination with our partners in local government, service providers, and our vendors. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of tomorrow’s 5K Run as more information becomes available. Please check back for the latest updates.

We have received a large volume of emails since January 1st and hope to address and respond as soon as feasible. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we navigate the challenges posed by mother nature.

NEW DATE AND TIME!!!

10 A.M. Start of 5K

Bib pickup begins at 8 a.m.

Come ring in 2026 for our 43rd Annual Hangover 5k run held in and around Tamaques Park and the surrounding Westfield neighborhood. USATF certified course. Flat, tree-lined streets. As always, featuring a custom designed, cozy and warm hoodie (guaranteed to all pre-registrants by 12/24/2025). Post race refreshments will be available. . Online registration closes when we reach the cap of 750 runners OR 12/24/25 at 11:59pm whichever comes first.  THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. NO REFUNDS WILL BE PROCESSED. Please re-read this, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS GIVEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES and NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.

Registered participants will receive email updates as the event date approaches. 

NOTE: This is designated as USATF-NJ PMAG 500-point event.

Please arrive early. Parking is limited inside the park. On street parking close to the park is also available. THERE IS NO POST REGISTRATION. Pre-registration bib pickup begins at 10:30am and closes promptly at 11:45am. In case of unsettled weather check www.cjrrc.org for the latest info concerning the status of the race.
