Welcome to the 27th Annual Hatfield McCoy Marathon!

We want everyone to experience everything Hatfield McCoy during race weekend on June 12-13, 2026. All races on Saturday, June 13, 2026. 

Choose between the Marathon, Blackberry Mountain Half Marathon, River Road Half Marathon, Jeannie Rivard 5k, and Kid's Run.

West Virginia has some amazing races and we are honored to partner up with The Hatfield McCoy Marathon to create The Thundering Feud Challenge!

Anyone who finishes both races listed below (either the Marathon or Half Marathon distance) will earn an additional medal!

There will be no awards - this is simply a completion challenge to earn an extra medal (presented to you after you finish Marshall). 

The medal must be collected on race day - no shipping of medal will be offered.

Live Results/Updates will be challenging (specifically the halfway split of the Marathon and The Blackberry Half Marathon) due to the limited cell coverage in the area around Matewan, WV and South Williamson, KY. 

The following is our projected schedule of results post times for each event based on the information stated above. Please note that we will post as able dependent on cell coverage/access to our decoders that transmit the times remotely. 

• 5K start and finish in Williamson, WV (7:45AM Start) - Preliminary results to be posted live via RunSignUp
• Marathon start and finish in South Williamson, KY and finish in Williamson, WV (7:00AM Start) - Preliminary results to be posted live via RunSignUp
• River Road Half Marathon start in Matewan, WV and finish in Williamson, WV   (7:30 AM Start) - Start posting preliminary results at 9:30 AM
• Blackberry Mountain Half Marathon start at Food City in South Williamson, KY and finish in Matewan, WV  (7:00 AM Start) - Start posting preliminary results at 9:30 AM

***River Road Half Marathon*** 
1) Meet in front at the Truist Bank in Downtown Williamson (address - 250 E 2nd Ave, Williamson, WV 25661)
2) Be there at 6:20am 
3) Bus leaves for Matewan, WV at 6:30am 
4) Look for long yellow school buses 

***Marathon, and Blackberry Half Marathon***
1) Buses will travel through Downtown Williamson stopping at these locations (5am - 6:45am)

* Parking is NOT permitted at the race start for Downtown Williamson and Downtown Williamson
* All participants should park in or near the town of Williamson and Matewan and catch a shuttle to Food City (Marathon/Blackberry Mountain Half) and Matewan City Hall (River Road Half)

The Tug Valley Road Runners Club was formed on January 28, 2000 with 10 members.

We are a non-profit organization and a member club #1375 of the Road Runners Club of America

Our main goal is to promote physical fitness through running.
We offer Tuesday Night Track meets for speed work and various pace group runs.
The TVRRC has a scholarship program for high school students who participate in track or cross country running.
We also sponsor a Children's Running Program in the schools of Southern WV and Eastern Kentucky at no cost to students.
