HRCA Independence Day 5K

Kick off your 4th of July with a family-friendly and festive 5K on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 7:30 a.m.! Celebrate Independence Day with a fun morning on the move — this spirited run/walk welcomes everyone: first-time 5K participants, elite athletes, kids, parents with strollers, and even four-legged friends. Lace up, bring your patriotic flair, and start the holiday with energy and community cheer! Once you cross the finish line, keep the celebration going by heading over to Highlands Ranch Parkway to enjoy the annual HRCA 4th of July Parade!

Keep your eyes peeled — a red, white, and blue kettlebell will be hidden on the course! Whoever finds it and brings it back to the finish will win $100! 🎉

All participants will receive the following: 

• Race t-shirt
• Independence Day 5K pint glass
• Custom race bib
• Pancake breakfast from Flippin' Flapjacks
• Post-race beer from Living the Dream Brewing

When and where is Packet Pickup?

You will be able to pick up your timing bib and race shirt beginning at 6:30 a.m. on race morning. Athletes should expect long lines and pre-race packet pickup is preferred! Race day registration will be available online until the start of the race but we will not be accepting cash or card payments on site. All registrations must be done online.

 

Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, strollers are allowed on this course. Out of courtesy and safety for fellow runners, please start at the back of your assigned wave.

 

Are pets allowed on course?
Yes, furry friends are welcome. Please be aware of hot temperatures and blacktop temps.

 

I can’t make the race, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, all registrations are final.

 

What if it rains on race day?
We race rain or shine!

 

Can I register on the day of the race?
There will be no onsite registration for this race however registration will remain open online until the day of the race. If you're interested in joining us last minute, please register online and our system will be able to check you in real-time.

 

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes, we act on the honor system here in Highlands Ranch.

 

Can I wear headphones?
Yes, however, it is strongly discouraged as the safety of all participants is our main priority. If you do decide to wear headphones please keep them at a low volume to ensure you can hear what is going on around you.

 

Does it cost money to park?
Nope! Free parking is available in the Highlands Ranch town center parking garage or in the surrounding area. 

 

Will there be restrooms on-site?
Yes, restrooms will be available on the west side of the clock tower at Town Center next to Abloom Florist.

 

Will medical personnel be on-site?
We will have medical services located near the start/finish line. If medical attention is needed seek the medical table near the start/finish line.

 

What should I do if I can't find my child?
If you happen to have a missing child, please let the DJ/Emcee know and he will make an announcement over the loudspeakers.

 

Where can I find my race results?
Race results will be live immediately after the 1st racer finishes. Participants can see results online by clicking HERE. Paper results will not be posted on-site.

 

Will there be an aid station on the course?
There will be one aid station on the course providing hydration for all runners located at S Ridgeline Blvd & Plaza Drive. 

 

Can spectators attend for free?
Absolutely… Bring one or bring all to cheer on your favorite racer! However, pancakes and beer are for participants only.

 

Can I wear a costume at the race?
Please do! Costumes are encouraged… be on the lookout for our photographer!

 

Is there a cutoff time for the race?
No, however, most racers are finished within 1:20 minutes. There are plenty of participants who enjoy walking instead!

Their drip IV therapy spa, located off of West Highlands Ranch Parkway and South Ridgeline Boulevard, offers a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere without sacrificing the skilled professionalism of a medical office. Hydrate's IV cocktail-style menu offers services for illness, wellness, recovery, and beauty, including athletic recovery. They ensure you are relaxed with comfortable chairs, soothing music, and a menu of services!

All participants will receive:

• Race t-shirt (men's, women's, and youth sizing available)
• Custom bib
• All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from Flippin' Flap Jacks for participants
• One beer provided by Living The Dream Brewing Company (age 21+)

Race Day Packet Pickup
You will be able to pick up your timing bib and race shirt beginning at 6:30 a.m. on race morning. Athletes should expect long lines and pre-race packet pickup is preferred! Light a firecracker under those sneakers and get ready for this fun and fast course. Starting and finishing on Dorchester Street, the course will take runners north to Plaza Drive and back to Town Center South via Broadway and Highlands Ranch Pkwy.

There will be one aid station available on the course that will offer water.
