About Jan Dils Freedom Fun Run 5K
Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law is thrilled to bring back our Freedom Fun Run 5K!
We are proud to host this event annually as a part of our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. Our prior events for Veterans have been incredibly successful, and we expect to draw record numbers of attendees who are excited to be able to support the men and women who have served our country.
This year, we offer both in-person and virtual participation options. The fundraiser benefits Veterans and honors their service to our country. We are eternally grateful for everyone’s support and participation in this event.
Our initial motive in launching this event was to do something special for the community that also benefited our Veterans. We hear the sacrifices Veterans have made and the sacrifices their families have had to make and want to do something to honor them. Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law fundraises for Veterans throughout the year, with this event being our biggest and most exciting one of the year!
100% of the Freedom Fun Run 5K proceeds will go to benefit local veteran organizations such as We Have Your Six, Operation Transportation, and the Jan Dils Foundation Scholarship for Veteran Recipients.
Every year we receive overwhelmingly positive support and feedback about this race. Lots of planning goes into this event, and we hope you’ll join us and support the cause as we continue to grow!
What is a Virtual 5K?
What is a Virtual 5K?
A virtual race is like any race except the people participating are in different places!
You can choose to RUN, JOG or WALK.
The race can happen on the road, a trail, on a treadmill, at the gym or a track.
Just sign up, decide on your course, make sure you’re physically ready, then time yourself while you complete your run/walk!
FOR VIRTUAL 5K PARTICIPANTS - those who wish to be eligible for timed awards must use the ASICS RunkeeperTM App OR a similar fitness tracker app to record your race and provide the recorded proof of your finish time as a photo when submitting your results. Download a fitness tracker app, hit record, complete race, take a photo of finished results, and upload the photo of your results when posting your finish time on Race Roster. Those who fail to follow these instructions will be deemed ineligible for awards.
Here are a few tips for a successful virtual race:
- Check the weather. You have a week to complete the race, so choose the day and time that best suits you.
- Remember to warm up, cool down and stretch!
- Fuel up properly by eating well before your run and have some healthy post-race food waiting for when you get back.
- Don't forget to hydrate! Since you won't have official race water stations you may want to carry some water with you or plan your route to include water fountains.
- Have fun!
