FUNDRAISING TIPS & FAQ

Thank you for being part of the 2025 Keep Punching 5K, 1 Mile and Virtual Events! Your participation and fundraising directly support individuals with brain cancer and their families; providers who are pursuing integrative approaches to healing; and researchers who are investigating traditional and complementary cancer-related therapies.

Fundraising becomes simple with this step-by-step guide and online tools. Tap into the generosity of your friends, family, and their networks by asking for donations—and enjoy the process every step of the way!

Let's Get Started!

Step 1: Register for the 5K, 1 Mile or/and Virtual Events by clicking on the "Register" button at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Create an individual fundraiser; or a team fundraiser for even more camaraderie.
Step 3: Personalize your fundraising page by adding photos, images and a personal anecdote. What's your 'why'?
Step 4: Set a goal and then take the first step by donating to your fundraiser to show your dedication.
Step 5: Spread the word by inviting family and friends to support your mission and Keep Punching.

Ways to Jumpstart Your Fundraiser

Garage Sale for Good: Declutter and sell items, with proceeds going toward your goal.
Get your employer involved! Ask if they’ll match your team’s total fundraising efforts or participate in an employee gift-matching program to maximize your impact.
Celebrate differently! Ask friends and family to donate to your fundraiser instead of giving traditional birthday or holiday gifts.
Dine-to-Donate: Partner with a local restaurant to donate a percentage of sales on a specific day.

Is fundraising required to participate?

Fundraising is encouraged but not required. Every dollar raised helps prevent and eradicate brain cancer.

  • Scroll to your events and find the Keep Punching 5K and 1 Miler.
  • Select "Submit Virtual Results" and upload your workout.

The deadline to submit your virtual results is May 20th.  After May 20th, the virtual results will be finalized.

Note: Your activity must be tracked as a Walk/Run to be eligible for reporting. For example, accumulating general steps throughout the day will not count, but going for a walk or run (in the gym and outside) will count.

Send Us a Selfie/Share Your Pictures!
If you don’t take a picture did it even happen? We’d love to see your pre- and post-race pictures! Be sure to take a selfie and share it through the runsignup.com photo page or download your photo(s) when you report your results.  And, share them on social media using the hashtag: #KeepPunching

*Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards, but we'll certainly be acknowledging the winners in our post-race communication.
