BAG CHECK

A new racecourse with a new start line location means a new location for Bag Check. This is for athletes racing in the 13.1 mile Half Marathon & 26.2 mile Marathon ONLY. Please pay attention!

YOU MUST PICK UP A CLEAR BAG FROM THE EXPO for you to place items in for BAG CHECK. If you show up to bag check with your own backpack, etc., you will not be allowed to check it. ALL BAGS will be screened by Homeland Security & the Bomb Squad.

You need to drop off the clear bag that you have labeled with your name and BIB# outside the EXPO Area. This is a little north of the start lines on Park Blvd., next to the food truck end of the EXPO area. BAG CHECK OPENS AT 5:30 AM AND CLOSES AT 7:15 AM. You will place your bag on the ground and step to the side. We will have canine units go through and search your bags. Once cleared, our team will load them into secured box trucks. Only then you will be free to leave the area.

Picking up your bag is easier than ever before. Once the race starts, we will transport all the bags to the EXPO tent. When you cross the finish line on Sunday, you will be funneled through the registration & EXPO tents where you will be able to pick up your bag essentially minutes after you cross the finish line.

How to Make Photo Prints

How to make beautiful photo prints of your memorable free race photos.

Yes, all of these race photos are Free!

IMPORTANT-How to download your photos
We upload all race photos to this website, RunSignUp (RSU), at 2400 pixels on the long side for 2021 & 2022. If you use the download arrow (located by hovering over any photo) to download the photo, you will get the original 2400 pixel photo image.
If you do a “print screen” or “right click Save as” procedure on the photo, to copy the photo, you WILL NOT get the full 2400 pixel photo image. Yes, you do want the full resolution image for highest quality printing! So please use the download arrow.

Where to download your race photos
It’s easy to download your race photos from our RSU photo search results page, and then place the photos into a folder on your computer hard drive. Then you can simply upload (send) the folder to an online photo printing website of your choice like, Walmart Photo, CVS, etc., Next, you simply select and edit the photos online that you want to print. Pick the size (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc) and you just follow their simple online instructions.

The photos you download from our search results page are 2400 pixels on the long side. This resolution is good for prints up to 8x10 ( @ 200-240 dots/inch) as long as you do not crop the photo to less than 2000 pixels.

Step1: To save your photos
Just click on the “arrow down” when hovering your curser over any photo, on our photos page, and save it to your computer hard drive in its own folder. Call the folder “My LIM Photos”.
Some computers will automatically save the photo in a “Downloads” folder and then we recommend you move the photo to your new “My LIM Photos” folder.

Step 2: Log into your favorite photo printing website and upload the folder you called “My LIM Photos”. Just follow their directions for adding folders and or image files, for upload.
Alternately you can just copy your “My LIM Photos” folder to a USB thumb drive and take this to any walk-in photo printing store. The store employees will sometimes be available to help you with the printing procedure and options.

Step 3: Select the picture or pictures you want to print, pick the size (4x6, 5x7, etc), position (crop) each photo to the desired size, and make any other adjustments in their menu like straightening, exposure, filters, etc.

Step 4: Proceed to the checkout, select how you would like to receive these photos, and pay!

NOTE: If you plan on printing a lot of photos, we recommend that you first try printing a few, so you can see the results, and then make any adjustments necessary!
Also be aware that different photo printing equipment in different stores may produce varying results.

The following are 2 Photo printing websites you can check out, but there are many others that you can try.

Walmart Photo
At the time of this race, Walmart has listed $0.09 cent 4x6 prints, $0.59 5x7 prints, and $2.84 8x10 prints!

ATTENTION SATURDAY ATHLETES:- PLEASE NOTE, there are no road closures or challenges OUTSIDE OF THE PARK. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION, PARK BLVD WILL CLOSE AT 7:45 AM AND REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL 9:30 AM on SATURDAY. DURING THE 10K RUN. Please arrive early. Best parking lots inside Eisenhower Park are  Fields 6, 6a & 2. Please note all these lots are located inside the park off of Park Blvd.

EISENHOWER PARKING LOTS WILL FILL UP FAST ON MARATHON SUNDAY

SUNDAY PARKING

Best parking lots inside Eisenhower Park are  Fields 6, 6a & 2. Please note all these lots are located inside the park off of Park Blvd. which CLOSES at the Hempstead Turnpike entrance at 6 am. The Merrick Ave./Stewart Ave. entrance will close at 6:30 am.

The challenge is if entering Park Blvd. at the Merrick Ave./Stewart Ave. entrance, you must come from North of Stewart Ave. (example Old County Road), as Merrick Ave,. & Hempstead Turnpike will start to experience closings as we need to set up all the traffic barrels, cones, and barricades for the race.

HERE IS A TIP ON HOW BEST TO AVOID CHALLENGES: ARRIVE BEFORE 6 AM!

  • Arriving before 6 am means you don't need to worry about road closures.
  • You can park in ANY lot in Eisenhower Park (except Field #5).
  • You will have ZERO STRESS race morning!
  • There will be NO lines for the PortoJohns!
  • You will be relaxed and stress-free before race start.

At 6:30 am, we will need to close Park Blvd. so we can set up the start lines and allow athletes to warm up on the road, etc. If you arrive late, you will need to park outside of Eisenhower Park and find your own way into the park.

VIRTUAL MILES

TRACKING VIRTUAL MILES / DISTANCE

BEST PRACTICES
The Race Starts on SEPTEMBER 1st, you can start to post your results from 12:01am. It's your choice to run 5k, 10k, 13.1 miles, 26.2miles or as many miles as you can for the month of September. Results must be uploaded by 11:59pm on September 30th, IT'S BEST TO ENTER YOUR DISTANCE ON THE DAY YOU DID IT!

WHICH MILES/KILOMETERS COUNT?
That's an important question;

Sure, you are self reporting, and we are not requiring "proof", but what miles (or kilometers) should count?

This should only be the distances you cover when you actually go out to run (or walk), and yes, doing the miles indoors on a  treadmill does count... ellipticals do not count!

You get the IDEA, these are the rules, Honesty is needed on your behalf.  You now know and understand the rules!
