Love Hard 5k Fun Run

The Love Hard 5k Fun Run is an annual run for a cause fundraising event for the UnbridledACTS community, Love Hard, as they come alongside families in their time of grief.

In September 2017, the Kamins family experienced the sudden passing of their son, brother and grandson, Cash, at just two years old. While grieving, the Kamins family held onto the knowledge that Cash knew how much he was loved—the Kamins family loves hard. To honor Cash’s vibrant spirit, Love Hard was born to raise money for other families who experience a similar sudden and unexpected loss. The goal is to provide short and long-term community through financial assistance and retreats that facilitate healing to families as they navigate their unique grieving process.

In honor of Cash’s birthday, Love Hard hosts this virtual & in-person 5k Fun Run to spread love. All funds raised will support families walking through grief.

Love Hard is a program under 501c3, UnbridledACTS, a nonprofit dedicated to loving people to life.

After the unexpected passing of Cash Kamins, at just two years old, the Kamins family and their support system found a way to keep the love of Cash alive. By creating the Love Hard logo and making shirts and hats for the community to wear, they celebrated Cash's life together. As the message of Love Hard caught on, others began to purchase the shirts and hats while partaking in fun activities that displayed what "loving hard" meant to them. With the help of their community, the Kamins family have intentionally pursued healing together, including annual family retreats. Through their experience, their desire to help others and to keep the memory of Cash alive only grew. 

Partnering with UnbridledACTS, Love Hard was born to support other grieving families who have lost a child too soon in life. Child and parent bereavement are two of the more common phenomena with the least amount of support. Love Hard gives grieving families a community to surround them during their hardest moments. We prioritize our support in three key areas:

• Financial aid
• All-expense-paid retreats
• Affordable grief counseling 

Every year, we host a 5k in June to celebrate Cash's birthday and raise funds for our Love Hard families. This event is more than just a fundraiser, it's an opportunity for families and friends to spend time together. To love hard and create memories while raising funds that will help families journey through their unique grieving process together.
