Nebraska's New Twist on a Relay Race

The NEWEST day-long relay in the Midwest. The Nebraska 50k Classic Relay requires no van, leg distance is the same for everyone, and the course is flat as a pancake!  

Teams consist of 2-8 members. Team members will take turns completing a 5k leg totaling a distance of 50k. Walkers are definitely welcome! 

Wanna fly SOLO? You can do a SOLO 50K or the newly added SOLO 25K. Totally your call. This is a day made for you!

Get creative and step out of the box and combine running with funny costumes, tees, socks, you name it, you can do it! Skip the van and create memories in one location with all the other teams. This will be one unforgettable day.

REGISTER YOUR TEAM

There is only one way to make it a fair system to participate: first come, first serve. That's right. Get yourself and your team registered before space runs out.  There are two ways to get your team registered.

Number 1

1. Designate a Team Captain
2. Create a Fun Team Name
3. Register: each members register themselves and joins their team once the Captain has registered.

Number 2

1. Designate a Team Captain
2. Create a Fun Team Name
3. Team Captain can pre-purchase members spots according to team size.
4. Members can then fill the pre-paid spots by registering for free and then reimburse the captain later.

Runners and Walkers of all paces are welcome to participate.

We are giving trophies to the first team of each category to cross the finish line: men's women's and coed.

AND....

We are giving trophies to the LAST men's team, the LAST Women's team and the LAST Coed team to cross the finish line.

WE CELEBRATE ALL Paces!!!

The relay START is right by the crushed limestone Homestead Trail in Pickrell. Participants will run the Homestead Trail to the 5k turnaround point and back to the start to hand-off to the next relay participant. 

A total of 10 legs must be run by participants to complete the relay event.

If you would like to pre-pay for the slots on your team, please follow these steps. This is available after you have created your team, if you have not created your team yet, please do so by signing up and creating your team HERE

Step 1

• Find your team on the Relay Teams menu bar and click into it OR CLICK HERE

Step 2

• Click "Buy" on a single slot prepaid package

If you'd like to purchase additional slots, you may do so and stack them on top of the slots you've already purchased. Repeat this process for as many slots as you'd like to prepay for. The prepaid slots will be applied for the next team members as they join. 

No refunds will be issued for unused prepaid slots. Last day for prepay purchase is 3/11/2024

Basically all you need to know is your team’s name and you fill in their rest. Once you are registered, you can edit your runner profile at anytime.

CAPTAINS ONLY will pick up packets for their team.

Race Day Packet Pick-up will be at the Pickrell Tavern in Pickrell, NE where the race begins and ends.

A TEAM is a group of participants (running/walking) that consist of 2-8 people.

A TEAM of 2 people will take turns running the 5k legs of the relay. They can rotate legs or decide if they want to complete more than one leg in a row. The key is to complete each leg completely passing through the exchange zone regardless of which leg the person is completing.

A TEAM of 8 people may have everybody do 1 leg and 2 people do two legs. The key is to complete each leg completely passing through the exchange zone.

There are three TEAM options to choose from:

• All MALE
• All FEMALE
• CO-ED 

CO-ED teams beyond 4 members must include 2 members of either gender to be considered CO-ED. (i.e. 6 Person Team: 2 female & 4 male or 2 male and 5 female or 3 female and 3 male)

TEAMS will decide on their own what leg each participant will complete as long as TEAM completes the entire 50k distance. 

This is a chip timed event. Any team not completing the entire 50k distance will be disqualified.
