About NOON Year's Eve 5K 2026
Run in the New Year with us at the 4th annual NOON Year's Eve 5K presented by Patterson Heating & Air Conditioning! This popular holiday 5K sold out the first three years, so we're expecting a full house again in 2026.
The 5K kicks off with a traditional New Year's Eve countdown at NOON! All paces are welcome. Runners (and walkers!) will enjoy a certified cross country course with scenic views of the lake and surrounding parkland.
SWAG
If you love swag, we've got you covered! 5K participants will receive a long sleeve, branded race shirt, a finisher medal and post-race lunch/beverages. Make sure you sign up early to secure your swag though, as we do expect another sellout. If you prefer to keep it simple, we offer a "Go Green" option where runners can opt out of a shirt and medal (but you still get to enjoy the post-race sustenance!).
RACE COURSES
The 5K course begins and ends in McAlpine Creek Park. This is a certified 5K course consisting of crushed gravel surface - perfect for pushing yourself for a new PR!
The Noon Year's Eve Kids Dash course is ~ 0.20 mile, flat sprint perfect for nearly all ages. The kiddos will start at the 5K start line and cut across a crushed gravel path to take a "shortcut" to the finish line. Parents are welcome to accompany their kids on this fun run!

KIDS DASH
The NOON Year's Eve Kids Dash starts at 12:45 pm. The little ones dash 0.25 miles from the start to finish line and receive their own branded finisher medal.

Due to the overwhelming response, the New Year's Double bundle is SOLD OUT.
If you still want to challenge yourself, you can sign up for both the NOON Year's Eve 5K and the Charlotte New Year's Day 5K separately, but the bundle discount and exclusive swag are no longer available.
Both of these great New Year's races offer tons of great swag and fun for runners and walkers but you better hurry as both races are near capacity!

You can register for each race individually, using the links above. End 2024 with a beautiful run on the cross country trail at McAlpine Creek Park, then kick off 2025 with a tour of the University City area and the wonderful greenway system, ending on the amazing UNC Charlotte campus!

PARKING
There is plenty of parking available at the race site. After you park, head across the bridge into the park. The START LINE will be on your left and the FINISH LINE will be on your right.
COURSE

IMPORTANT COURSE INFO: There are a couple of sections in the course that runners will see twice. To help you out, we will have signs in those areas directing you. Please pay close attention for these signs:
THE LAST MILE
Save some energy for The Last Mile of the year! All participants will receive a split time for the LAST MILE of the race and prizes will be awarded for Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Last Mile Runners

5K AWARDS will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Finishers, as well as Top 3 Male and Female in the following age groups:
