Sprint Swim Course (400 yards)
The swim will take place in Lake Wedington. The course is a point to point in the shape of a rectangle. Buoys will be on the right. The average water temperature in early June can range from 75 to 85 degrees.

Transition:  A single transition area. The transition from swim to bike will include a 200 meter slightly uphill run.

Sprint Bike Course  (13 miles)
The bike course is a local favorite of both triathletes and cyclists. The course is on newly paved roads with a rolling terrain. The toughest hill on the course comes at the six mile mark, Weaver Hill starts and finishes gradually, but has a steep section in the middle. After this .5-mile climb, the course is fast with just a few rollers.

Sprint Run Course (2 miles)
The run is a rolling, partially shaded, two-loop course on paved roads completely inside the park which provides great spectator viewing. There is one tough hill on each loop that was given several names, but none are worthy or suitable for print. This year we’ll have the “crazies” at the top of the hill to cheer you on. You don’t want to miss the party!

PARKING

  • NO PARKING ON HWY 16 HIGHWAY. YOUR CAR WILL BE TOWED!
  • If you park inside the main park you will not be permitted to leave until the last competitor has finished.

Club State Championship Scoring

Scoring will follow standard cross-country scoring, in which the lowest point total among qualifying teams will be the winner.  Only current USAT Triathlon Official Clubs are eligible.

Participation and Performance Based Scoring

  1. Each individual athlete will be scored in their respective age group
    • 1st place = 1 point, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place=3 points, etc.
    • EVERY athlete in the club counts.  All points are added up for each club - this will provide total sum for all club athletes.
    • Divide the total score by the total number of athletes participating per club to receive the club's final score/average.

  2. For example, if athlete A earns 1st place in their age group, athlete B earns 6th place in their age group, athlete C earns 1st place in their age group, athlete D earns 20th place in their age group and athlete E earns 10th place in their age group - the club scores would be calculated by:
    • 1 + 6 + 1 + 20 + 10 = 38/5 athletes = 7.6 points

  3. Tie Breaker:  In the case of the tie, each of the tied teams will take their best 3 scoring athletes and average their scores.  The team with the lowest average score will be awarded the higher place.

Additional Details:

Males and females are not separated.  Each club member will be score together. Since athletes are awarded points based on the place earned in their respective age group and gender, this gives all clubs an opportunity to win, regardless if they are all all-female, an all-male, mixed gender club, or non-binary athlete.

COURSE INFO:

International Swim Course (1,000 yards)
The swim will take place in Lake Wedington. The course is a point to point in the shape of a rectangle. Buoys will be on the right. The average water temperature in late June can range from 75 to 85 degrees.

Transition:  A single transition area. The transition from swim to bike will include a 200 meter slightly uphill run.

International Bike Course (19 miles)
The bike course is a local favorite of both triathletes and cyclists. The course is on newly paved roads with a rolling terrain. The toughest hill on the course comes at the six mile mark, Weaver Hill starts and finishes gradually, but has a steep section in the middle. After this .5-mile climb, the course is fast with just a few rollers.

International Run Course (4 miles)
The run is a rolling, partially shaded, two-loop course on paved roads completely inside the park which provides great spectator viewing. There is one tough hill on each loop that was given several names, but none are worthy or suitable for print.
