Palos Verdes Trails 5K

This 5K offers the natural beauty of the Palos Verdes trails. Enjoy the shade of eucalyptus trees as you traverse the well-groomed horse trails over gently rolling hills. Invigorate your body. Soothe your soul. 

Please note: Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course, per City of Rolling Hills Estates regulations.  

Due to an error on our part, the course was shorter than 3.1 miles or 5K.  We apologize for the oversight and will be working closely with the City of Rolling Hills Estates to create a new course that is a full 5K next year.

6:30 am  Packet pickup for pre-registered participants and onsite registration for those not pre-registered begins

Friday October 2,  2-6 pm (Palos Verdes)
Packet pickup will be at Vista Sotheby's at 35 Peninsula Center, Rolling Hills Estates.

Saturday October 3,  10:30 am - 2:30 pm (Torrance)

Packet pickup will be available at Road Runner Sports in Torrance.  Everyone who participates in packet pickup will be entered into a raffle for a $100 RoadRunner Sports gift card.

Sunday September 29 7:00-8:00am (Race Day)

Packet pickup is also available at the 5K venue, in Ernie Howlett Park.

Parking options are as follows:

1) In the lot at the end of the entrance road.  Turn right into the lot. For reference, the start/finish line is marked with a star.

2) Along the entry road.

3) When all of the spaces in the park fill up, you can park along Hawthorne Blvd. Parking is also available on Moccasin Lane, in front of Rancho Vista Elementary.  It is about a 15 minute walk (0.65 mile) from the school to the start line. 

If you can carpool, walk, or get dropped off, we recommend that you do so.

Please note: Per city regulations, no pets or wheels are permitted on the course.

Proceeds benefit Strides in Recovery, a non-profit based in Palos Verdes.  We help people with substance use disorders grow physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger so they can do their best at the hard work of recovery.  We achieve these outcomes by coaching people in addiction treatment programs to complete events ranging from 5Ks to full marathons. Many of these newly clean and sober individuals will be participating in this event.

Strides in Recovery helps people in addiction treatment programs grow physically, emotionally, and mentally stronger by training for 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons. Because many of our participants are formerly homeless or incarcerated, or have lost everything due to their addiction, they do not have a good pair of running shoes.  You can help.

Please bring your new or gently used running shoes with you on event day, and give them to us at the Strides in Recovery shoe donation area. If you would tie them together, add a label (a sticker or piece of tape is fine) with the size, and leave the soles and laces in, that would be much appreciated.
