Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge

Firefighters!

Pensacola Sports is excited to host the annual Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge on April 10-11, 2026.  

Test your skill, strength, and stamina on the sugar-white sands of Pensacola Beach.  Register a team or challenge yourself and do the course solo. The Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge is a great family-friendly event to build camaraderie, compete, have fun, and win!

There will be Individual and Team Firefighter Challenges and bring the kids out to try the Kids Challenge, happening on the same course with obstacles that simulates the same obstacles as the firefighters.

Obstacle Course to Include:

• Forcible Entry
• Charged Hose Pull (100ft)
• Kaiser Sled
• Dummy Drag (50ft)
• Hose Ladder Pull

Each participant will be required to wear full gear including boots, gloves, air packs (breathing on air), helmets, and masks.

For the team competition, the first person will complete the first obstacle, then physically tag to the second person, and so on until the final person crosses the finish line.

There will be two courses right next to each other - two teams/individuals will be going at the same time. Each team/person is racing for their best overall time, not against the next team/person next to them.

  • 6:30 am - Area opens for teams to set-up tents
  • 7:00 -7:30 am - Opening Ceremony
  • 7:30 am to 12:00pm - Individual Competition *
  • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm - Break
  • 1:00 pm - 2:00pm Kids Challenge
  • 2:00 pm - 5:00 PM - Team Competition *
  • Awards Ceremony following team competition *

* = Final entry numbers will effect competition time.  Final competition schedule will be posted week of the event.

Times are subject to change based on Individual competition speed. We suggest that all participants stay close to the competition area in order to hear announcements.

• There are no refunds for this event
• In the event there is light rain or off and on rain, we will continue with the event on April 10 & 11
• If the entire weekend is a washout, there will not be another make-up date.
  If this happens, we will work with the teams to discount entry into next year's event
  The check-in party, participant goodies will still go on/be given out as scheduled.
