All distance events — marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, and 5K — start in downtown Ann Arbor at 209 S Ashley St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Run through the vibrant streets of downtown Ann Arbor, then wind your way through the panoramic University of Michigan campus. The marathon, half-marathon, and 10K courses also encompass stretches along the Huron River and Gallup Park and through Nichols Arboretum before returning to campus and downtown. All races end with a spectacular downtown finish. The Ann Arbor Marathon course is USATF certified and serves as a qualifier for both the Boston and New York Marathons.
If you’re coming in from out of town, out of state, or out of the country — or even if you live in the Ann Arbor Area — you’ll enjoy discovering Tree Town USA! Ann Arbor features locally owned and operated restaurants and cafes, independent bookstores, theaters, art galleries, and museums (including the University of Michigan Museum of Art), all within reach of the Ann Arbor Marathon. Learn more at VisitAnnArbor.org!
E-RACE THE STIGMA
We are continuing our charity takeover!
In partnership with the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor we are committing all our fundraising efforts to organizations that help and support mental health and/or issues associated with mental health and play an active role in reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. You will learn about them during registration, and we hope you will choose to support one or many to help E-Race the Stigma!
12-Week Half Marathon Walk Training Plan

Each team will receive ONE timing belt with one chipped and numbered team bib (when you are running you will have two bibs). This will be buckled around the active runner and passed to each team member. You will receive all bibs, belt, and T-shirts at packet pickup. PLEASE HAVE ONE TEAM MEMBER PICK UP THE PACKET FOR THE ENTIRE TEAM.
Buses
- Please use our buses for transportation to the Relay Exchange Zone at Gallup Park Playground if you are running leg 2 or 4.
- The first bus will leave from 1st Street and Washington at 7:50 a.m.
- The second bus will leave from the same location at 9:00 a.m.
- When the second bus arrives at Gallup Park Playground, it will pick up those who have finished Leg 1. It will then shuttle back and forth from the start/finish area to Gallup Park Playground until 1:00 p.m. Any Leg 3 runners arriving at Gallup Park Playground after 1:00 p.m. will need to be picked up by their wonderful teammates or at least get reimbursed by their teammates for an Uber.
- Legs 1 & 3 can send dry clothes on the bus to have them waiting at Gallup Park Playground. Legs 2 & 4 can send a bag of excess clothing to be transported back to the start/finish area.
- Bags and labels will be available at our “bag check” area as well as on the buses. You may not use your own bag and all contents within the bag will need to be visible - which means, please don’t stuff your gym bag into our clear bag. Any bags not following these rules will be left behind.
Leg #1 (7.3 miles)
You will begin at the official start line with everybody. If you want warm, dry clothes for you when you finish your leg, you should put your belongings in a “gear check” bag and have your teammate bring it on the 7:50 a.m. bus. You can get a bag at packet pickup the day before, at our “gear check” area on race day, and we will also have them on the bus. YOU MAY ONLY USE OUR PROVIDED BAG, YOU MAY NOT USE YOUR OWN BAG. IF YOU USE YOUR OWN BAG, IT WILL BE TAKEN OFF THE BUS. When you arrive at Gallup Park Playground, your bag will be there, and there will be a bus to transport you back to the start/finish area.
Leg #2 (5.9 miles)
You will take the bus to Gallup Park Playground and may leave your belongings on the bus or give them to your teammate as long as they are in one of our supplied bags. Your belongings will be available to you at the “bag check” area of the start/finish area.
Leg #3 (7.3 miles)
This transfer spot is at 4th and E. Liberty St. in front of Fleet Feet.
Leg #4 (5.9 miles)
Same as leg #2, but you may want to take the 9:00 a.m. bus as opposed to the 7:50 a.m bus. Your choice!
When you are approaching the finish line, your teammates will join you to the finish where you will all receive your well-deserved medals because there is no “I” in TEAM!

Pacers
Looking for some extra support in your goal to finish the Probility Ann Arbor Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K or 5K? Are you looking to run a personal best? The Epic Pace Team will help you meet your performance goals!
We are proud to provide pacers for 5K through the marathon distance with our Epic Pacers! They will be available for the following distances:
5K – :21, :24, :27, :30, :33, and :36 total finish time
10K – :42, :48, :54, 1:00, 1:06, and 1:12 total finish time
13.1 – 1:25, 1:35, 1:45, 2 hours, 2:15, 2:30 total finish time
26.2 – 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4 hours, 4:10, 4:20, 4:30, 4:45, 5 hours total finish time
How will I find the Epic Pacers on race day?
The pacers will be at the start line 15 minutes before the start of the race. This will give you a chance to talk to them, learn more about the plan for pacing, and ask any questions you might have. They will be holding signs with their goal pace and finish time and will be wearing a Epic Pacer uniform.
Why should I run with a Epic Pacer?
The Epic Pacers are set up to help you reach your goal time in the race. The pacers have been selected from a pool of applicants and proved themselves to be excellent at this job. These runners have volunteered to run with you, cheer you on, and inspire you to get to your goal.
How will I know which pace group is right for me?
The pace groups are assigned different finish times, to meet the goals of different runners. To determine your own goal time, use your past races, recent training runs, and current fitness. A good rule of thumb for beginners is to start at the pace of the longest run that you did during your race build-up. You can then accelerate during the later stages of the race if you find this pace is too easy. If you aren't sure how to match up your pace with your goal finish time, you can use this pace predictor to help choose your group.

Zero-Waste Event
♻️ A Leave No Trace Event
At Epic Races, sustainability is a core part of how we operate. Instead of traditional trash cans, you’ll find a centralized Zero Waste Station known as “Ground Zero.” Powered by our friends at Happy Planet Running and our rockstar volunteers, this is where every wrapper, cup, plate, and crumb goes to live its best recycled, composted, or reused life!
Please bring all of your trash to Ground Zero. Our Green Team will sort, weigh, and record everything to produce our post-event Sustainability Report. Your participation helps us reduce our environmental footprint and keep our venue beautiful.
