About Red Coyote Puppy Love 5K
Red Coyote is kicking off 2026 with Puppy Love 5K on Sunday, February 22nd at 2PM at Stars & Stripes Park in OKC. Run, walk, jog, and stroll with your pups and support the mission of 405 Animal Rescue with one of our favorite races of the year. 405 Animal Rescue will also bring some adoptable pups—come to the race ready to meet (and maybe even adopt!) a new running buddy!
Puppy Love 5K is 100% dog-friendly for well-socialized pups on a leash; please bring potty bags to clean up after your dogs on the course.
Run with your pup or without—this is a fun, family-friendly race for all abilities and paces. We also invite you to join in the fun with our costume contest—we'll have a special prize for the dog/owner with the most amazing costume!
All finishers will receive a Red Coyote Puppy Love 5K medal and shirt—get a sneak peek of the design during registration!
Winter running weather in Oklahoma can be unpredictable. In the event that we are unable to run, Red Coyote will postpone rather than cancel the event. Our preliminary weather backup date is currently set for Sunday, March 1st but we will announce and confirm within 24 hours should a reschedule become necessary.

OUR BENEFICIARY PARTNER
Our beneficiary partner organization for the Puppy Love 5K is 405 Animal Rescue. An estimated 11 million cats and dogs are killed in United States shelters each year. 405 Animal Rescue strives to help beat those odds as much as possible by rescuing animals off death-row and euthanasia, rescuing unwanted animals, promoting spay and neuter, microchipping to increase the return-to-owner rate, socialize and rehabilitate mentally and physically abused animals, and much more. We go above and beyond to adopt our our wonderful, deserving animals out to approved homes to kick start them into their new lives, full of love, happiness and security.

PACKET PICK UP
Packet pick up will be at the Red Coyote Oklahoma City store located at 5720 N Classen 73118.
Friday, February 21st from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
We will also have pick up available on site at the race starting at 1:00 pm am but WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT EVRYONE PICK UP IN ADVANCE to avoid lines and delays at the event.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Puppy Love 5K course is a loop route on recreational trails at Lake Hefner.
The run is pet and stroller friendly and the route is suitable for runners of all abilities.
EVENT PARKING
Parking inside Stars & Stripes Park is limited but should accommodate expected turnout. There is overflow parking at other Lake Hefner recreation areas noted on our parking map available for download below. Please be advised that parking in the south or west ball field lots will be available before and after the event but closed during the run portion from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. If you need to leave earlier than 11:00 please choose other available parking options.
TIMING, RESULTS, & PHOTOS
Red Coyote uses MyLaps Bib Tag timing and live online results. Participants can also enable finish time text and email notifications for themselves, friends, and family. All runners will also be able to view, download, print, and share a custom finisher certificate with your time from your online results. We are also pleased to partner with Okie Pics to offer event photos loaded to your results from the race. You can download, print, and share all these great assets and we invite you to #RedCoyote, #RunWithThePack and #PuppyLove in your social posts to let everyone know what a great time you had!
