About Richland Creek Run XX

On Saturday April 4th, the 20th Annual Richland Creek Run will lead participants along a certified five-mile course through sections of the historic Sylvan Park neighborhood and along the Richland Creek Greenway. Net proceeds from this event benefit Greenways for Nashville, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating, preserving, and promoting a system of greenways in Nashville and Davidson County.

The 5 mile run will begin at 8 a.m. outside of The Cohn Learning Center, 4805 Park Avenue, and wind through parts of Sylvan Park before heading onto the Richland Creek Greenway and finishing back at Cohn. Dogs and strollers are permitted during the race. The 1 mile fun run will begin at approximately 8:05am at the same location. The races will be held rain or shine and all 5 mile participants will receive a t-shirt.

The Dinky Dash begins at 7:30 a.m. and is a fun run for children ages 12 and under. The dash is a half-mile, out and back course that begins at the Cohn School. It is a great way to introduce young children to a fun run atmosphere. Popsicles are provided after for the kiddos!

T-shirts and/or sizing not guaranteed for late registrants.

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, Greenways for Nashville will host our 19th annual Richland Creek Run, a certified 5-mile timed run that will take approximately 600 runners and walkers through the Historic Sylvan Park neighborhood and along the Richland Creek Greenway. A popular event that brings together competitive runners, walkers, and the local business community, this race supports Greenways for Nashville in our mission to promote, support, and preserve greenways in Nashville and Davidson County. In addition to our unique 5-miler, there is also a 1-miler and Dinky Dash fun run for kids!

Awards are distributed at the awards celebration at M.L. Rose. The awards ceremony will be begin at approximately 9:45am.

Awards Ceremony

Participants are invited to the awards ceremony immediately following the race at M.L. Rose. Awards announced at approximately 9:45am.

Course Conditions

Greenways for Nashville, Metro Parks, and the Richland Creek Run committee work together to make the race a safe and engaging event. Both Parks staff and committee members have inspected the course to address issues.

However, the course being outside, and subject to the whims of nature, there may remain certain hazards that race participants should take into account as they charge down the path.

  • There may be water on the course.
  • There may be wash in the form of mud and gravel on the course.
  • There may be vegetative debris on the course.
  • There may be fauna poop on the course.
  • The bridges may be slippery if damp.
  • There may be uneven surfaces on the bridges.
  • And, there will absolutely be uneven surfaces in sections of the pavement.

Please pay attention to your footing as you sprint, run, trot, job, walk, amble, or any combination of the preceding.
