We are very excited to announce the 18th Annual Rumpshaker 5K to be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Regions Field, Birmingham, AL. Without your support, we would not be able to carry out our mission to raise awareness and provide hope and support to those fighting this disease.
Rumpshaker 5K In-Person Event:
The in-person 5K race participants will be chip-timed. In-person 5K participants will be eligible for the $5 team discount along with Virtual 5K (team discounts apply to teams of 5 participants or more). We encourage you to take advantage of one of the new categories if you or your team members are not comfortable with the in-person event. $5 off Team Discount Ends Saturday, March 21st. Rumpshaker 5K Virtual Event: [More Info]
Formerly known as "My Rump is Sleeping In" we have now expanded this category to include the Virtual 5K Race. This is an excellent option for those who would be more comfortable completing the Rumpshaker 5K on their own or with a smaller group of friends and family. You simply pick your date and your route. This option provides flexibility as it is a "do it yourself" 5K. You are encouraged to share your photos with us so we can post them on our social media outlets. This category is eligible for a $5 discount for each team member (teams of 5 participants or more). You will receive the 5K T-Shirt as part of your registration package. $5 off Team Discount Ends Saturday, March 21st. Register early to save.

How to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip:
All In-Person 5K participants will be provided a timing chip to produce timed race results. [Click Here] to see details on how to wear your Bib-Tag Timing Chip. Please wear your bib number on the FRONT of your shirt during the race. Remember to bring your bib number on race day. No bib number means no recorded time. The timing chip is located on the backside of your bib number.
Strollers at the Race: If you are participating with a stroller and/or children, we ask that you keep your children with you at all times, and that you start from the back of the "RUN 30 minute or greater" or "WALK ONLY" corrals This will allow your family members, and our other participants, a safer race experience.
Bib Number Transfer and Cancellation Policy:
There are NO refunds of registration fees. Bib number transfers of registration must be completed by March 21, 2026. **If you need to make changes to your registration or transfer to another participant [Click Here] for instructions on how to change your registration. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to Rumpshaker, Inc.
Bandit Policy:
Bandits are unregistered runners or walkers attempting to participate in the run or walk events. Running with No registration is not permitted in the 5K. Please be sure to register for the Rumpshaker 5K so that you can enjoy all that the race has to offer. Everyone in the 5K will need to wear their Bib Number that shows you are a registered participant. All proceeds of the event go to Rumpshaker Inc.

Step 1: Read about and select from the different challenges below.
Step 2: After you pick your challenge, register by clicking "Sign Up" under the challenge.
Step 3: Complete your activities anywhere during the active period for your challenge.
Step 4: After you complete your daily activity, you log in to the website for the day and your activities will be tracked and progress is shown. As you progress you will earn different levels and badges along the way.
Step 5: Repeat steps 3 through 4 during the duration of the challenge period.

COVID-FAQ
How will Rumpshaker control the crowd?
- We will make every effort to conduct this race in accordance with CDC, state, and local guidelines. CDC Guidelines on how to protect yourself: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html.
- We will rely on each runner to conduct themselves with best practices during the global pandemic, including practical physical distancing, avoiding handshakes and high-fives, and wearing facemasks, etc.
- In-Person Event is limited to 500 participants.
- Runners will be lined up 6 feet apart in small wave groups.
- Runners will be launched in 3-5 second intervals.
- Everyone is expected to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart.
Do I have to wear a mask?
- All volunteers and spectators will be requested to wear face masks.
- All participants will be requested to wear a mask until the race begins (a single-use mask will be available at the registration area by our organization).
- Once race begins, participants may remove their masks while running. Our volunteers will ensure that masks are disposed of properly in trash cans placed just beyond the start line.
Will there be race day race registration?
- There will be no race day race registration.
- You may pick up your race packet at Fleet Feet Sports Monday – Friday of race week.
- Packet pickup will be available on race morning.
Will there be post-race food/water?
- All food items will be pre-packaged, and all volunteers will be wearing gloves and masks. Tables will be spread out to provide for appropriate spacing.
- Post-Race water will be individual bottles placed on tables that are appropriately spaced.
Will there be water stops?
- Water stops will provide individual bottles of water ensuring a contactless experience.
Will there be post-race activities?
- Sponsor booths/tables will be spaced at least 10 feet apart.
- No family/individual tents will be allowed.
- No Bounce Equipment or other organized kid’s events will be allowed.

Team Awards
Have fun and be creative while supporting a great cause! In the spirit of friendly competition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Team Awards will be given as follows:
* Team with Most Participants (Based on the number of members on March 27th 9:00pm)
* Team with Most Funds Raised Overall (Calculated: total funds raised by 8:00am on race day)
* Team with the Most Funds Raised per Team Member (Calculated: total funds raised divided by the number of team members)
* Fastest Team (Based on chip time) Awards will be given for the fastest Male, Female, and Coed team. All chip-timed team members will be recorded and then averaged to determine the winner.
* Only team members who are chip timed will be considered, so at least 5 of your team members must be chip timed to compete for Fastest Team awards.
* Most Team Spirit (Based on costumes, team name, t-shirts, props, enthusiasm, etc.)

This category is eligible for a $5 discount for each team member (teams of 5 participants or more). We highly encourage you to recruit a team and participate in the challenge together by setting up group chats or social media groups to help each team member achieve their goals. NOTE: Teams can be any combination of In-Person 5K, Virtual 5K, and 1 Mile Fun Run participants. $5 off Team Discount Ends Saturday, March 21st. Register early to save.

You may also request to have your packet shipped directly to you, shipping fees apply. This option can be selected at the time of registration.
