Join us -- rain or shine -- on Thanksgiving Day for the Santa Rosa Turkey Trot! Wobble before you gobble!

Santa Rosa Turkey Trot is a program of Learning is Open, a California 501c3 non-profit organization. We offer a wide variety of marketing and sponsorship opportunities. All of them are meant to broaden the exposure of your business while doing good in the community. All financial donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the Redwood Empire Food Bank. In return, we sign your praise and also provide marketing benefits. Here are some of our donation levels and benefits.

What if it rains?

Santa Rosa Turkey Trot is a rain-or-shine event.

What time do the races start? And where is the start?

Santa Rosa Turkey Trot takes place at Old Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa on Thanksgiving morning (directions). There are 2 events start and finish there. The start times:

• The TURKEY Trot starts at 8:00 am. This year we have one start for everyone.  
• The TINY TURKEY starts at 9am and is for our littlest ones. This is a romp around the grassy area in Old Courthouse Square and is about 100 yards, tops. 

Where do I park on race day? Does it cost anything?

Parking is free in the city garages on Thanksgiving Day. We highly recommend parking at Garage 12 (555 B. Street). Here are directions. This location is ideal because of the street closures. You can get in and out easily and you'll descend right into the start area!

Can I volunteer?

Yes, please do! Great volunteers are what makes this event wonderful. You can sign up here. 

What stuff do I get?

Each racer receives a custom long-sleeve Santa Rosa Turkey Trot shirt and a custom bib and a GREAT morning! 

Can I run with my dog? How about strollers?

Yes, we are dog-friendly! We do ask that you start near the back and use your best judgment with the crowd. We are also stroller-friendly!

When and where do I pick up my shirt and bib?

You have three chances: 

• Tuesday, November 25 Fleet Feet Santa Rosa, 720 Third Street Santa Rosa 10am - 5pm
• Wednesday, November 26 Fleet Feet Santa Rosa, 720 Third Street Santa Rosa 10am - 5pm
• Thursday, November 27 6:30- 8:30am at the Start/Finish, Old Courthouse Square (directions - see our note about parking in Garage 12 on race morning.)

Will you just mail everything to me?

We will not be mailing shirts and bibs. Contact us if you have a special request.

Should I wear my turkey suit?

Oh yes! You absolutely should! We will choose folks in costume for special gifts on race day. Post yourself running in turkey garb and tag us at #santarosaturkeytrot and we may send you something nifty. 

Will there be prizes for the winners?

There are prizes for the top three male and female finishers (13 and above) and the top three young male and female finishers (0 - 12) in the Fast Turkey only. The Festive 5k is a non-competitive event. 

We practice radical acceptance of deferrals and transfers. You can defer or transfer at any time up until race day (but not after the race has taken place.) This includes gifting your registration to a friend. 

Here are your options. You can:

• Defer until next year's race. We sign you up automatically after registration opens for next year.
• Transfer your race to a friend. They can come and enjoy a good time.
• Transfer to any other of our events between now and a year from now. We have events all over California, all year long. Please join us in the future. We owe each other a race!

All of these options are available to you by selecting Manage Registration in your profile. Here is a little tutorial on how to manage your registration.  It's all free of charge. 

As to refunds, we don't offer cash refunds under any circumstance. Please consider purchasing race insurance. This is exactly what it's here for.

You're welcome to pickup for friends and family. Bring your post-race email to speed things up, but don't worry if you don't have it. We can take you however you are!

NEW COURSE! Thanks to all of you, Santa Rosa Turkey Trot has grown to big for our 'classic' out-and-back course. Our race still starts and finishes in Old Courthouse Square. The new course takes you on a figure 8, around downtown, onto the Prince Memorial Greenway with a loop to the other side of the Creek on A Street, and home along the City Streets. (Note: read down for the FLOOD Course).

FLOOD COURSE! The Prince Memorial Greenway is more than a greenways. It's a river that floods! That means portions of the trail can be submerged. If it is the case that our course is flooded, we will follow a different route that introduces a small loop on 3rd and 2nd Streets, and a loop on the Greenway that crosses Santa Rosa Creek at A Street. This course returns without the 3rd and 2nd Street Loop.
