This event is not weather permitted and will continue with rain or shine
No refunds will be issued for any reason
Participants registered by 2/15/26, are guaranteed to receive their shirt, including those who choose the day of pick up option. All participants registered after this date will receive their shirt on a first come first serve basis, t-shirts and sizes are not guaranteed

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why can’t I bring my dog? I have brought my dog in previous years.
A: The Fun Run is a part of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Alameda County Health Department rules stipulate that dogs and other pets are not allowed at the festival because of food safety.

Q: Can I run with my child in a stroller?
A: Yes, but we ask that you start toward the back of the pack of runners. The child in the stroller is also ineligible to win an age group award.

Q: Do I have to pay for my child to participate in the race?
A: Children five years of age and older will need to pay to participate in the race. However, payment is required for children under the age of five only if they want to receive a race bib and t-shirt. 

Q: Where do I pick-up my t-shirt and race bib?
A: This year, packet pick up will take place at the locations listed below, ONLY during the following days and times. (No bibs or shirts will be mailed).

Q:  Where is the starting line? 
A:  The starting line is at Dublin Blvd. adjacent to the Dublin Public Safety Complex.  

Q: Are Family Registrations timed?
A: All registration categories are timed except for the Individual Not Timed Registration.

Q: How do I register a Corporate, Non-Profit or Running club online?
A: You must have a minimum of five registrants for this option. You will need a coupon code in order to select this option and receive the discount. Please email the race director. 

Q: What are the age groups? 
A: Separate divisions for Boys and Girls: 5-8, 9-12,13-15, 16-19; Men and Women: 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Q: What are the prizes?
A: The first three finishers in each age group in the timed race will receive gift certificates. Prizes will be determined by the top times from the official Shamrock 5K timed run division. 

Q: I am registering a Corporate, Non-Profit or Running club online and the price is showing $27 per person, which is incorrect.
A: You must have the coupon code from the race director in order to receive the discount. Once that is applied, the fee will change. 

Route

The 2026 annual Shamrock 5k Fun Run and Walk is a community event created to promote physical fitness among families and to enhance community engagement, pride and spirit during the weekend of the City of Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival. The event will begin at the City of Dublin’s Civic Center on Dublin Blvd. at 8:30 am on Sunday, March 15, 2024. The fun run route will be as follows: West on Dublin Blvd, turn right onto Village Pkwy and head north, turn right onto Amador Valley Blvd and head east, turn right onto York Dr. which will turn into Penn Dr, turn right onto Amador Valley Blvd and head east. The run will continue down Amador Valley Blvd past the first entrance to the Iron Horse Trail and over the crest of the hill, the run will join the trail system close to the bottom of the hill and head southwest until the trail reaches the Iron Horse Trail. It will continue past the Iron Horse Trail to the Alamo Canal Trail and head south toward the Dublin Library, the race will lead down the trail behind the Dublin Library and finish within the back-parking lot.

Safety First!

Please keep this event fun for everyone!  Safety is always first. Runners please pass on the left and walkers please move to right to allow runners to pass. 

There will be onsite medics if there is an emergency and at water stations/mile markers there are is first-aid supplies. A First-aid booth will also be open in the festival.

Awards/Prizes

Competitive Division participants are eligible for prizes. The first three finishers in each age group in the Competitive Division timed race will receive gift certificates. 1st: $50, 2nd: $25, 3rd: $10. Prizes will be determined by the top times from the official Shamrock 5K timed run division.
