Shelburne Farms 5K

This is a classic Racevermont.com race limited to only 200 racers which, understandably, sells out year after year. The course is a combination of gravel paths (not loose), wooded trails, beautiful fields and dirt roads.

Registration includes a finishers medal. This race is exclusive to Racevermont.com

It is every racer’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with our Racer Rules. If you
have any questions, please feel free to email rayne@racevermont.com.

• Parking may be offsite for an event. We recommend you bring a backpack to
  carry your personal belongings. Racevermont.com is not responsible for any
  lost or stolen items.
• Please be on time and arrive no later than 10 minutes before the close of
  registration.
• The use of personal music devices is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED but permitted. If
  you do decide to use your music device, please keep your volume low so you
  can hear traffic coming your way and our volunteers and/or timing team should
  they need to get your attention.
• Racevermont.com has no objection to and does not discourage the safe and
  prudent use of strollers or baby joggers during our Shelburne Farms 5k. Stroller or baby
  joggers or similar devices should be started in the back of the runners and
  walkers.
• Races must be courteous to other racers, volunteers, race officials, spectators at
  ALL times. Unsportsmanlike behavior will result in disqualification.
• You will be running against traffic where instructed.
• Do not run more than 2 abreast.
• All athletes must clearly display their bib #’s on the front of their body (not on the
  leg) throughout the course. Do not crumple your bib as this may have an affect
  on your bib chip.
• Race numbers must be visible at all times, but especially when approaching the finish line. This is especially important for accurate race results as well as photo IDs. 
• ALL SALES ARE FINAL. We do not offer any refunds, transfers or credits.
• NO BANDITS ALLOWED!

Thank you for organizing a wonderful event. It was the perfect start of our day. My husband and I came to Vermont for Parents Weekend at UVM and are so happy we came across your race.

We hope to introduce the beautiful educational site of Shelburne Farms to our family in the future.

Sunday at Shelburne Farms was the best! Your race crew is amazing, the race course support was amazing, the shirts are beautiful, and you are SO positive and so encouraging! I heard you say “Have fun!” at least 3x!

As I was cooling down, I said hello to another participant who was clearly in awe of Shelburne Farms as I was. She was looking out at Lake Champlain and the mountains and said to me:”Runner’s World should be here. It really does not get more special than this event.

Race bibs and t-shirts will be available for pick up at Fleet Feet Sports in Essex Junction on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 from 1 to 5 pm.

Enjoy a store-wide 15% discount when you pick up your things. Pre-race pick up is optional.

Race day pickup and check in will start at 7:15 am at Shelburne Farms.

Observe signs.and cones.

Bottled water will be available post race.

Should this race get cancelled due to extreme weather or by order of the governor or other government official, you will have the option to either defer your registration to the next year's Shelburne Farms 5K or transfer to another Racevermont.com race of equal or lesser distance. We do not offer refunds for unattended races regardless of who cancels the race, and transfers/deferrals will only be offered in the event that this race is cancelled.

These are Shelburne Farms guidelines which may be updated prior to the race.

Do not enter areas marked "Private" or "No Access".

Carry out all trash.

Farm and trails close at sunset.

The top four overall male, female and non binary finishers will be awarded a prize.

1st:  A pair of Saucony running shoes from Saucony & Fleet Feet Vermont

2nd:  A bottle of Shelburne Farms wine (must be 18 years old)

3rd:  A pint of Dakin Farms pure maple syrup

4th:  A block of Dakin Farms cheese

Age group winners will receive an Age Group Winner Racevermont.com pint glass. The top four overall male, female and non binary winners will not be eligible for an age group prize.
