Shoot for the Stars 5k

Taylor Ranch Elementary School is excited for the return of Shoot for the Stars 5k on February 28, 2026!

A great morning event with something for everyone!  Chip-timed 5K with awards suitable for all ages and all levels.  And a great post-race celebration.  The race starts at 9 am.  

Your 5K race swag includes:

• Custom Shoot for the Stars finisher medal for the 5K finishers!
• Custom Short-Sleeve Race Shirt.  (Subject to availability, style and color may change) 
  Shirt deadline:  End of January.  After this time, shirts or sizes are not guaranteed and will be limited to what is available to choose on RunSignUp.

Advance Packet Pickup: Taylor Ranch Elementary School (2500 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice, FL 34293) on the Thursday before the race, 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  If you cannot attend, you will be able to pick up your race packet at 8 am on race day.

***Upon completion of the run any shirts not picked up will be available to trade***
No medals will be saved post race. If packets /shirts/medals are not picked up you will be forfeiting them.

Our Cause:  Taylor Ranch School has a long-standing history of community service and giving back to our Venice community.  This year's event will help set our current and former students up for success.  

• We are funding senior scholarships for former TRS Trailblazers who have continued their commitment to community throughout high school.
• Our main fundraising goal is to secure two interventionists for the 2026-2027 school year. Interventionists work directly with students to reach grade-level mastery in both reading and math. Their expertise and time is of great benefit to our teachers and students!

Save time at packet pick up!  No paper required but if your registration QR code on smarthphone (screenshot works, too) or you know your bib number, it will expedite your pick up.  But if not, no worries, our volunteers will check you in by name.

Still need to register?  You can register online on RunSignUp from home or on your smartphone before you get here!  On-site registration will be avaialble online using your smartphone or we will have an i-Pad for your use.  Credit card, cash or check.

Race Morning Packet Pick Up & In-Person Registration:  Saturday, February 28, 2026; 7:30 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. at Taylor Ranch School (2500 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice, FL 34293) at the race site.  

IMPORTANT RACE MORNING PARKING INFO!  Ample parking is available around the Taylor Ranch School Campus.  However, the Taylor Ranch Trail and the campus will be closed to vehicles at 8:40 a.m. to prepare for the 9:00 a.m. race start and will remain closed until the last runner/walker is clear, approximately 10:10 a.m.   If you park at the Taylor Ranch School, you must be on property by 8:40 and will not be able to leave until approximately 10:10 a.m. after the race.  If you will or might want to leave before that, please park at New Life Church or plan your time accordingly.  For parking at New Life Church, there will be a golf cart to shuttle you to the venue or about a 1-mile walk.  If you park at the church, allow extra time, especially if after you pick up your packet if you want to return to your car before the race.  Do NOT park at Colonial Baptist Church or on the "No Parking" side of Taylor Ranch Trail.
