Join us for the 5th Annual Stop, Drop and Run Fireman 5k on Sunday, April 26, 2026.  All events take place in North Strabane Township Park and all money raised will be donated to the North Strabane Township Fire Department.

COVID 19 Rules and Regulations

The following race day guidelines have been approved by the Washington County Department of Health.  These guidelines are in place for the safety of the participants, volunteers, and race directors.  Please do not register if you cannot follow these guidelines.  Participants who fail to abide by these rules will be removed and disqualified from the event. 

PRE-RACE GUIDELINES

  • Participants must be symptom free of illness for 14 days (May 9th & after).  Symptomatic individuals MUST stay at home.  
  • Participants traveling to event are recommended to travel alone or with members of immediate family only.
  • Participants ARE REQUIRED to wear a face covering to the starting line and can remove their face covering when they start running.  
  • Participants must wear shirt and shoes at all times.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be provided at the start and finish line areas.  
  • Bottled water will be available at the finish line.  We highly recommend carrying your own water; there will be a water stop available with staff wearing masks and gloves.

DURING RACE GUIDELINES

  • No spitting, snotting, or projections of any bodily fluid before, during or after event.
  • Restroom accommodations will be available prior to the event at the park.
  • All participants must avoid any physical contact with other participants which includes high fives, fist bumps, huddles, or other close contact before, during, or after the event.
  • During competition, participants must abide by the six-foot mandated social distancing regulations when passing other participants.  

POST RACE GUIDELINES

  • Upon finishing the race, participants must head directly to their vehicles after receiving their medal and post race snacks.  
  • No congregating at finish line and/or parking areas.  
  • There will not be any post race awards ceremony.   Runners can see their results online at a link to be posted later.
  • Spectators are not permitted on course, at start line, finish line, or parking areas.
  • Family members finishing at separate times cannot wait at finish line for other family members.

PACKET PICK UP

Packet pick up will begin at 7:30 am on race day.  To ensure a smooth and easy process, please make an effort to arrive early so we do not have to rush you through at the last minute.

RESULTS

START / WAVE PROCEDURES & LOGISTICS

To ensue a safe and fun event for everyone, we ask that everyone adhere to the following race guidelines when running the event. 

9:00 AM START

  • Runners will be sent off in groups of no more than 50, divided by pace, and socially distanced.
  • Runners will line up next to cones in the coral area prior to each wave.  Cones will be set socially distanced apart.
  • Runners will waterfall start under the direction of the timing director.  Please listen for announcements.
  • There will be approximately 90 seconds between waves.
  • Masks ARE REQUIRED PRE AND POST RACE.
  • You may remove your mask once you cross the start line if you are able to maintain a 6 foot social distance from fellow competitors.
  • Start line set up is outlined below.

THE PHYSICAL THERAPY INSTITUTE

The Physical Therapy Institute, in coordination with North Strabane Township Fire Department, are offering professional support to help your success before, during, and after your run/walk!

Present during the race will be Dr Nicole Ray who has a strong orthopedic background but also a specialty in pelvic floor as well as Dr Cristy Schollaert who also has a 14 year orthopedic background in the Washington County area!

8:00 am – 8:30 am As attendees, you will be eligible to register for FREE screening including finding the cause of your pain, and finding a successful plan to stop it! If you have lower back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, knee pain, hip pain or foot pain, we are here to help! 

8:30 am – 8:50 am – Group Pre-Run dynamic warm up

9:30 am – 11 am – Group Post-Run stretch session. You can pre-register before the run, at our booth, for individual post-run treatments including Thera-gun, foam rolling or hands on stretching directly from our PT’s!

RACE SWAG

5K and 1 MILE

  • All 5K and 1 Mile participants registered by April 7th will be guaranteed a custom commemorative t-shirt, race bib and medal.
  • Runners who register after April 7th are guaranteed to receive a race bib and medal.  Shirts will likely be available but are not guaranteed.
  • Race day registrants will receive a medal, bib and shirt if available.  

KIDS DASH

  • All kids dash participants will receive a finishers award.

COURSE MAP

The 5K course has 3 distinct loops with details below.  The 1 mile course will be added soon.

  • The course will begin with a loop around the park for the first mile then exit the park on Linden Road.
  • The course will re-enter the park and then do an inner loop
  • Lastly, the course will run loop 1 in reverse, pass the baseball fields and then a flat, fast finish.
