Welcome to the Summer Splash Prairie Dog Half, 10k & 5k in Castle Rock, Colorado. Part of the Prairie Dog Half race series, join us in July as we race through Castle Rock along the East Plum Creek Trail.

Advanced Packet Pickup

Don't stand in line on race morning! Come say hello and pick up your packet early. And yes, you may pick up packets for your friends and family. Simply have their QR code/email with you on your phone or printed.

These are the only dates for ADVANCED packet pick up.  You are welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your packet for you.  If you cannot attend advanced packet pick up, you must pick up your bib and timing chip on race day morning during the allotted time.

Pre-Event Contact
We would love to work with you to feature your product or business with our racers.  There are many ways to be involved and gain exposure, from hosting a packet pick up location or after-party, sponsoring a water station (at select events), adding a goody or coupon to the goody bag, providing an in-kind donation/sample for the racers on the course or at the finish line, or setting up a booth on race day at the expo. 

We can feature your business on the event webpage, racer emails or social media!  All sponsorship payments must be received before your business is included in any kind of mention or posting.

TENT/TABLE:  You will be given approximately 12'x12' of space.  Tents and tables are NOT included, however, some of you have already arranged for table/tent rental from 3W Races.  In that case, your tent and or table will be set for you at your designated space.

Generally, tent rental is $75 and tables are $10 each to rent for the event.  3W will bring the tent/table, set it up at your designated location and tear it down at the end of the event.  If you are interested in this arrangement, please coordinate with us at least one week in advance.

Goody Bag Stuffers
If you have arranged to place something into the Goody Bag, please make sure your 'stuffer' reaches us by the deadline so our volunteers and staff can get it into each racer's goody bag!  Items received after the deadline will not be in the goody bag.

Race Day Logistics
DATE: July 18, 2026 (Saturday)
TIME: 5:00-5:30 AM Vendor Set Up, Expo opens 5:30am. Races start at 6:30AM, 10:00 is Tear Down. The finish line officially closes when the last runner crosses.  Click Here for Racer Schedule.

DROP-OFF:
You will be able to drive right up to your booth space to unload.

SURFACE:
All Sponsors will be set up in the High School Parking Lot. Please weigh down your tent appropriately if you're bringing a tent.

POWER & WIFI:
Power and WIFI are not available at this location.

PARKING 
There is plenty of parking at the High School and the next-door middle school. 

COURSE SURFACE
The course is primarily on East Plum Creek Trail and is 100% concrete.

DOGS, STROLLERS, ETC
Yes, your well-behaved, leashed dog is welcome here!  Yes, your well-behaved child in a stroller is welcome here.  Although, you may NOT ride on your stroller on the downhill portions.  It will be tempting, as those hills never disappoint those looking for a challenge. This course is suitable for all types of strollers.

SUPPORT*
5k:  There are two opportunities for water on the 5k course at miles .75 and 1.25.

10k:  The 10k will have four water stops at miles .75, 2, 4 and 5.25.

13.1:  The Half Marathon will see a water station 8 times  at approximately miles .75, 2, 4, 5.5, 6.5, 9, 11 and 12.25 with water and an electrolyte drink, at all of them. Energy gels will be at the southernmost water station at miles 5.5 and 6.5.

Port-a-Johns will be at the Expo (start/finish) and at approximately miles 5.5 and 6.4 on the half marathon course. 

CUPS - yes, there are cups at the aid stations but we are a cup-free finish line!

All distances are OUT and BACK, which means runners need to stay to the right to avoid oncoming racers.

*The 1/2 marathon course support and timing will be open for 3:30:00.  Racers must average at least 16 minutes per mile to remain on the course and receive course support.

Parking

There is ample parking at the Castle View High School and Castle Rock Middle School.  There is NO ENTRY via Sabercat Way, but all other entrances and exits to the parking areas are open and usable.

Race Day Raffle - Donations for Our Charity Partner

Wanna win some cool prizes from us and our sponsors?  You'll be entered into the race day raffle when you donate 5 items to Backpack Society.  Bring your items to the donations table, and we'll place your bib number into the race-day drawing. 

Winning numbers will be posted on the information board placed next to the registration tent during the event.  When you finish, check the board for your number.  If you won, bring your ticket over to the 3W tent to claim your prize!

Sneakers4Good Info

We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Sneakers4Good to provide you with a socially responsible way to donate your gently worn, used or new sneakers and running shoes to a good cause we support! The sneakers will help benefit Growing Home as well as give a hand up, not a handout, to micro-enterprises in 25 developing countries. The athletic shoes will be kept out of landfills where they can take decades to fully decompose. Visit Sneakers4Good to learn more!

It's super simple! All you need to do is bring your lightly worn athletic shoes and sneakers to the race (either race day or at packet pick up). We collect them and mail them and a donation is made to Growing Home! 

Please donate only gently worn, used, and new athletic shoes.  These sneakers, trainers, and other athletic shoes will be worn again by people in developing nations, so please make sure there are no holes or soles falling off and that they are in wearable condition.  Dress shoes, sandals, brown shoes, flip flops, cleats, etc. and other shoes that are NOT athletic shoes will NOT be accepted. 

Please tie your shoes together or put a rubber band around the pair!

**Available shirt sizes are listed during registration.  In the final few days before the event, some sizes will sell out.  Not all sizes may be available for same-day registration.  Visit the 3W Races table at the Expo after 8:30 AM for shirt exchange if you are interested in trading out the size you ordered for a different size!
