FAQ's

How do transitions work in an indoor triathlon?

The transitions for this indoor triathlon are untimed, but standardized. Each wave will move through each portion as a group, and will start each leg at the same time. Athletes will have roughly 10 minutes after the last swimmer exits the water to change in the locker rooms adjacent to the pool before the ride. Additionally, athletes will bring their running gear to the bike portion.

Is there race check-in/packet pickup?

Because it is an indoor triathlon, check-in is RACE MORNING ONLY! Check-in will start at 5:45 am, followed by a pre-race briefing right before the first wave at 6:30 am.

Is there free parking available on race day?

Yes! There is a parking lot in front of Sumers Recreation Center, along with a parking lot outside of Simon hall. There will be plenty of free parking open early Sunday morning.

Will there be a swim warm-up?

Yes! There will be ~15 minutes to warm-up in the lanes immediately before each swim heat goes.

What do I bike with?

Athletes can bike with sneakers, and every bike is equipped with toe cages. Athletes will also be allowed to clip into spin bikes with SPD (mountain bike) clips. SPD-SL clips will not work with our spin bikes.

How do I store my non-race things?

Athletes will be able to store their belongings in the facility locker room throughout the race, and will be able to store run gear in cubbies adjacent to the spin bikes during the cycling portion.

Are there showers available post-race?

Athletes will also be able to shower post race in the facility locker rooms. There are also soap dispensers in the locker room showers.

Is there something to eat post-race?

We will be providing post-race bagels and spreads, bananas, and cookies for all athletes participating.
