About West Valley Triathlon
Join us for the annual West Valley Triathlon. This event is open to all ages, youth and adults. Participate as single participant or be part of a relay.
The event will start and finish at the Goodyear YMCA in Goodyear Arizona.
The West Valley Tri is a sanctioned event by USAT. All participants are required to have a USAT Day membership or yearly membership in order to participate.
NEW FOR 2026
Each distance will have color coded bibs to help you with signage along the course.
Event will be on a Saturday - No more church traffic

Below you will find information about the options for packet pick up.
An email will be sent the Tuesday before packet pick up as a reminder to all participants.

Please make sure you read all information in this page.
Items you need to complete on when you arrive onsite.

Get race bib if you didn't get on pre-race packet pick up.

Place bike in transition - 7 bikes per bike rack

Get timing chip, you will need your bib to pick up timing chip - Place chip on right ankle

Get body marked with bib number on left arm
-
Get ready and have an awesome race
6:30 am - Check-in & Transitions Area Opens:
-
Drop your bike and gear off in the transition area first and bring your bib to the timing chip table to verify bib number.
-
For those who did not make it to packet pick-up you may pick up your bib and swag at the check-in table and then get your timing chip.
7:50 am - Transition Area Closes:
-
Transitions set-ups must be completed.
-
Please setup up 7 bikes per bike rack.
-
No one is allowed to enter or exit the transition area.
-
No spectators are allowed in the transition area at any time before, during or after the race.

7:45am - Expert under 7 minutes -Green bracelet
Advanced 7:00-9:00 minutes - Blue bracelet
7:50 am - Intermediate 9:00-11:00 minutes -Red bracelet
7:55 am - Beginner 11:00-17:00 minutes - Orange bracelet
8:00 am - Novice 17:00 +minutes - Yellow bracelet
Bike Course:

Helmets are required and no earbuds are allowed on the bike course.

The 12-mile bike course is a four-mile loop.
-
You will need to complete the loop three times before reentering the transition area.

Please watch for traffic at all times. We have police and traffic control but always be on the look out.

Run Course:

We recommend you carry your own water for the run course.
-
There will be one water station near the transition area and another on the run course near the 1.55 mile mark.

Earbuds are allowed.
-
Please watch for traffic when crossing the street.

Transition Area:

We have a one direction transition area.

Please setup up 7 bikes per bike rack.

Participants will always enter from the south and exit on the north end.
-
Be sure to run over, not around, the timing mat at the entrance after you swim and finish cycling AND at the exit to begin cycling and running. Your transition start and finish times are recorded by crossing the mat.

Participant parking is located at Goodyear Community Park along Litchfield Rd

Please park in the designated area, any vehicle not park in the designated area could be towed at owners expense.
