YMCA Harrisburg Halfity Half Marathon

Entering it's 6th year, this fun and challenging event will offer our runners the chance to try a non-conventional distance, or revisit a classic. Choose from a Half (13.1 miles), Quarter (6.55 miles), or Eighth (3.27 miles) Marathon, all culminating in the post-race party at the beautiful Harrisburg Beach Club on City Island. Enjoy scenic views of gorgeous Harrisburg City and the Susquehanna River throughout your run. Whether your goal is to try something new or get that PR, a memorable experience awaits.

 

There will be two water station locations along the 1/2 marathon course.

• The 1/4 marathon runners will pass by one water station at approximately mile 4.5.

• The 1/2 marathon runners will pass by the two water stations twice. The approximate miles are 4.5, 7.0, 8.0, and 10.4.

• The 1/8 marathon will not pass by a water station.

There will be porta-potties at the starting and finish line areas and throughout the course adjacent to all water stations.

 

We are offering customized YMCA bib snaps to secure your race bib on race day. Snaps purchased during registration will be included in your race packet.

Already registered and didn't select the snaps? That's okay, you can log back into your RunSignUp account through May 3rd to edit your add-on purchase to include the bib snaps. The annual Harrisburg YMCA Select Physical Therapy Halfity-Half Marathon is a springtime favorite!

All distances finish by the new Harrisburg Beach Club on the north end of City Island. The Harrisburg Beach Club is a new bar/restaurant that refurbished the former City Island Bathhouse. Following the race, participants will get to hang out at the Harrisburg Beach Club, enjoy music, food/drinks, and celebrate!

This race has a distance for runners of all abilities. 

If you're looking for a springtime race or just looking to kickstart your running/walking season, the Halfity-Half has a distance for you. The 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) offers a fast, flat course that goes along the Susquehanna River and the southern Harrisburg Greenbelt Path through the woods. The whole race has beautiful views of the river, Harrisburg City skyline and the spring foliage.

If you aren't a long distance runner, then the 1/4 marathon (6.55 miles) or the 1/8 marathon (3.27 miles) are great options. Both distances go along the Susquehanna River and all the views that come along with it. And who knows, maybe you will start with one of these shorter distances and work your way up to a half or full marathon (hint, we have options for you in the fall!). 

All distances receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and a fun after-party along the Susquehanna River at the Harrisburg Beach Club! Spectators are welcome too! Completing any of the 3 courses at the Halfity-Half gives you the first of the three piece Harrisburg Area YMCA Race Series set of finisher medals that connect to make our biggest medal to date! Entering any distance at our fall half marathon & 10K(Sept) and the Harrisburg Marathon, Half Marathon and Relays(Nov) will complete the set.

• 8-12 year old participants must be accompanied by a paid adult registrant

 

1/4 Marathon (6.55 miles)

• Participants must be 10 years old to participate

• 10-12 year old participants must be accompanied by a paid adult registrant

 

1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles)

• Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate

No duplicate awards

• This means that if a participant wins the Overall Male or Female award, they are not eligible for age group awards.

 

All overall awards will be gun timed (order of finish). If you are planning on competing for an overall award, it is suggested that you line up close to the starting line. 

 

All age group awards will be chip timed.

An award table will be located near the finish line. Awards can be picked up at the table. Announcements will be made by the DJ when awards are available. This is based on the availability of the results for each distance.

Walkers - 1/2 Marathon

Walkers, for the 1/2 marathon distance, have an early start time of 7:15 AM. The course closes at 12:30 PM, so the early start time provides additional time for walkers to finish. Only 1/2 marathon walkers should start at 7:15 AM. 

Walkers are encouraged to pick up their race packet prior to race day, and must be knowledgeable of the course directions.
