My Next Race ("we", "us", or "our") operates mynextrace.net. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect minimal data and do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information We Collect

Geolocation (optional)

If you use the "Races Near Me" feature, your browser will ask for permission to access your location. If you allow it, your coordinates are sent to our server, converted to a zip code for race search, and immediately discarded — we do not store or log your coordinates.

Local storage

We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is used solely to remember your display preference.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies.

Search queries

Search terms and filters you enter are passed as URL parameters to return results. We do not log or store individual search queries tied to your identity.

Third-Party Services

OpenStreetMap & Nominatim

When using the location features, your zip code or approximate coordinates are sent to Nominatim (operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation) for geocoding. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.

CARTO

Interactive race maps load map tiles from CARTO's CDN. Standard tile requests (which include your approximate map view area) are made to CARTO's servers. See the CARTO Privacy Policy.

RunSignUp

Race registration links point to RunSignUp.com. When you click to register for a race, you leave our site and are subject to RunSignUp's Privacy Policy. We may receive a referral commission when you register through our links.

Analytics

We do not currently use any analytics or tracking tools. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and a notice will be provided.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable law, including the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data)

Because we collect very little personal data and do not store it beyond the immediate request, there is generally nothing to retrieve or delete.
