Weather Policy
The Rise & Connect 5K/10K & Kids/Wheelchair Fun Race will proceed rain or shine. However, participant and volunteer safety is our top priority. In the event of lightning or severe weather, the Race Director (or designated Safety Officer) may delay the start, suspend the race in progress, shorten the course, or cancel the event entirely, at their sole discretion.
If lightning is detected within the area, the event will be suspended for a minimum of 30 minutes following the last observed strike, per standard event safety guidelines. Participants and spectators should be prepared to seek shelter in a hard-topped vehicle or substantial building — not open-sided tents or pavilions — when instructed.
Registration fees are non-refundable in the event of a weather-related delay, shortening, or cancellation. We appreciate your understanding, as we make these decisions with everyone's safety as the top priority.
