Ashburn Farm Thanksgiving Day Races

Whether you run to win, run for fun, run to support a good cause, or run just because you want a guilt-free day of eating - plan to join us for the 33rd Annual Ashburn Farm 10K/5K and 2K Fun Run Thanksgiving Day IN PERSON or virtual races! 

Choose to join us at the traditional time and day in person - Thanksgiving Day, November 26 at 8:15 AM or Run Your Way - Anywhere from your own front door and use our RaceJoy technology to "run together" with friends, and family!

Virtual runners can also take advantage of the ability to sleep in on Thanksgiving, and choose to run anytime through the holiday weekend. November 26 - November 29!

Keep your tradition streak alive and run with us on Thanksgiving Day or sometime throughout the holiday weekend! You can do so from wherever you will be spending Thanksgiving!

We know you struggle every year deciding if you should do the 10k, the 5k or the 2k, well this year, you can do them all! Choose to run our Run Anywhere Thanksgiving Feast challenge which offers ALL the distances! This challenge will have you working off your second (and third) helping in no time!

All proceeds from the run support the mission outreach of Crossroads UMC – local, regional and international.  This includes providing food and emergency financial assistance, coats and boots to the unhoused, offering English as a 2nd Language classes, mission trips to help build homes in Guatemala, and continuing to support students in Uganda.   

10k is rain or shine.

Runners of the 10k will be supported on the race course for 90 min. 

NOTE: There is no water stop provided on any course. Runners are encouraged to bring their own water if needed on course. Plenty of water will be available at the finish line.

We strongly discourage strollers and dogs. With the number of runners expected, 2500, strollers can be difficult to push through the crowds, and our four legged friends can become overwhelmed by the crowds. Thank you for your understanding.

Should there be inclement weather preventing the race from moving forward, all participants will be switched to our Run Anywhere/virtual option and information will be email on how to pick up your performance shirt.

In an effort to get you back home to your families, there will be no formal awards ceremony. Winners will be announced as soon as possible via our awards pick up table typically located in the parking lot of the church. 

Our plan is to hand out awards as awards are made available from our timer. Awareds will be distributed from the awards table located in the church parking lot.

Awards will be available for pick up for the Top 3 males and Top 3 females in the 10k and 5k Races.

Age categories are 14 and under and then 5 year increments to age 70 and over. 

10k and 5k overall male and female, second and third place overall male and female, and first, second and third place male and female in the following age groups will receive a custom awards item:

NOTE: There will be no cash awards offered for 2026. Award item must be picked up on race day from the awards table. Awards will not be mailed. Awards will be available for pick up from the Church Office for up to two weeks after the race (Dec. 15)

For packet pick up, parking is available at the church.

For race day, plan to arrive by 7:45 for the start of your race.

Parking can be found at the nearby shopping center approximately a quarter mile from the Windmill Dr. start line.

Parking can also be found at the community center and ball field off of Windmill Dr.

Limited parking will be available at the gravel parking lot across from the church on Crossroads Dr.

NOTE: NO PARKING will be available in the church parking lot on race day. Thank you for being respectful to our neighbors by not parking in the residential parking spaces.

Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood along Windmill Drive, the community center and ball fields off of Windmill Drive, the Giant food shopping center, and the gravel parking lot across the street from Crossroads United Methodist Church. 

Please plan to arrive early and be patient with follow runners and our neighbors as you navigate the neighborhood looking for parking.

NOTE: There is no parking within the church parking lot on race day.

Make it a family thing when you create a team. Encourage your family and friends to join you and make things more fun as you compete against each other and other teams!

- Teams can be made up of friends or family or BOTH!
- Teams can be made up of in - person or participants from anywhere! (keep in mind virtual participants/those racing anywhere will not be eligible for awards) 
- Teams eligible for awards will include at least one male and one female and have at least (4) in person participants 

NOTE: Awards will be given to the fastest team! An eligible team for awards will consist of at least four runners registered as being a part of the same team and have at least one male and one female runner all participating in the in person event same race distance. 

Use your unique registration link (found in your confirmation email) to refer your friends and family and you will be rewarded! Once your registration link is used five times to complete a registration, you will receive $5 back as our way of saying Thank You!

We are excited to bring you GPS tracking through RaceJoy. This is an optional feature that you must choose to opt into at no additional cost.

Participants will receive mileage updates and fun cheers while using RaceJoy. Spectators will be able to see where you/your athlete are at all times during their race and  can send cheers to the athlete.
