Atlanta 3k Dog Walk and Festival

Join us for the Atlanta 3k Dog Walk and Festival — a dog-focused community event designed to help dogs and their people connect.

Taking place on Sunday, May 3 from 8:30 AM–12:00 PM at Shirley Franklin Park, this event brings together Atlanta dog parents, families, runners, walkers, and animal lovers for a morning of movement, bonding, and impact.

🐾 What Makes This Event Special
Along the 3K route, participants will find interactive dog-and-human bonding moments every ½ kilometer, including quick, fun challenges that include:

A 5-second sit - 1/2 K  market 

A 5 - second stay, - 1 K marker

A down, or paw cues - 2k marker 

Simple connection exercises designed to strengthen focus and teamwork

These moments are optional, welcoming, and designed for dogs of all experience levels — making the walk just as enriching as it is fun.

In addition to the 3K walk/run, the festival experience includes:

1. Agility obstacle course, sponsored by Praline's Backyard Dog Services  Atalnta's enrichment focused dog walking company.  The course is  designed to challenge dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. The course itself will feature plenty of photo-worthy leaps over hurdles,  cones, tunnels, ramps and other attention-grabbing obstacles to showcase their agility out on the grass.
2. After your dog works up an appetite on the obstacle course,  Snoozies is giving all our dogs pup cups and doggie pancakes when they cross the finish lines along with a coupons for their humans to stop by the restaurant to get one for themselves.  We have a line up on Atlanta's best dog treat companies including Wagboards, Pup Crunch, Barkside Creamery, Furbabies Eats, Lemons & Lavender Barkery,

Pre-race Packet Pick up on Sunday, April 26th and Saturday, May 2nd, from 1:00 pm  - 5:00 pm  is being hosted by Splootsville Pet Boutique , 1534 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.

 

Race Day pick up on site at the Shirley Franklin park  is available from 7:30 am - 8:15 am. 

 

There will also be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the festival, the Atlanta 3k Dog Walk/Run and Festival will be a chance to bring beloved dogs and their human friends together for a day of fun that creates community, especially centered around our dogs.

Yes, that even includes bragging rights once your dog completed the race course and the successfully tackles the obstacle course. You'll want to keep your camera handy so you won't miss a second of this awesome day.

 

This event is hosted by Praline’s Backyard Dog Services, with all proceeds benefiting Praline’s Backyard Foundation, a nonprofit that provides safe foster and boarding care for the pets of domestic violence survivors. By protecting pets, the Foundation helps remove one of the biggest barriers survivors face when seeking safety.

Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome.

All ages, all paces, walkers and runners alike are encouraged to participate.
