CLIFFS of the NEUSE is held in Seven Springs, NC at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park.
About CLIFFS of the NEUSE
Come experience our original trail race! Cliffs of the Neuse State Park's 7th spring trail race! We will have 4ish and 8ish mile distances as well as a 4ish mile hike option. Also a 25k and a 50k ULTRA distance!
START/FINISH AREA AT THE BIG PICNIC SHELTER WITH REAL PARKING AND REAL BATHROOMS!
The course will start and finish at the big picnic shelter by the lake parking lot. There will be a short section of gravel road but the 4ish mile loop, 8ish mile lollipop, and 50K/25K laps will be mostly beautiful single and double track. The curvy trails include significant elevation change and views of the river and lake. All courses will be marked and all runs will be timed.
Everyone will park in the large lot by the lake.
50k/25k will start at 9:00a check in 8:00a to 8:45a
All other distances will start at 9:30a check in 8:15a to 9:15a
HIKE: Kids 5 and under can participate in the hike for free as long as they are accompanied by a registered guardian.
Online registration ends March 18th.
As always we will have delicious cookies and a small meal waiting at the finish line! (gluten free and plant based of course)

SHIRTS!
In an effort to cut down on waste we have made shirts a separate option. The shirts are printed locally and are always comfortable. The last day to order a shirt is March 4th!
SOCKS
All 50K participants will receive a pair of our custom socks! More will be available for purchase at the finish line. (Cash only)
MEDALS!
All finishers who sign up in time will receive a sustainable wood medal!
AWARDS!
Top 3 overall and 1st in each age group for each race (male and female) will earn a custom award!
FOOD!
All participants will receive a small meal!

4 MILE MAP
We are sticking with the 4ish mile "high water" counter clockwise loop course with about 225 feet of elevation gain!
8 MILE MAP
8ish mile course is a long lollipop with about 425 feet of elevation gain.
50K/25K MAP
4/2 lap course with about 450 feet of elevation gain per lap. Full aid and restroom at start/finish of each lap. You will also pass a water station and restroom twice during each lap.
AID!
4 Mile Aid: Water at mile 2, fresh food and snacks at the finish.
8 Mile Aid: Water at mile 2 and 6, fresh food and snacks at the finish.
50K/25K Aid: Water, tailwind, coke, bananas, pickles, chips, Oreos, popcorn, gummies, peanuts, and a limited number of gels at the start/finish of each 7.5 ish lap. Also water at miles 2 and 5.5 of each lap. (Let us know if you want fresh food and we will bring it to you or set it aside so you don't miss out)
Restrooms: By start/finish parking lot and also visitors center by the water only station.

For 2027 we will have 5 State Park Trail Races across NC and VA! All 5 will offer a 25k as well as a shorter distance with a hike option. (Some events will also have longer distances)
If you sign up for at least 4 events and send us a message with your size, you'll be eligible for a series long sleeve!
If you complete at least 4 events and send us a message, you'll be eligible for a series award!
NEW for 2027... 25K SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!
For every 25k completed you will accumulate points.
(Example: if a 25k has 100 participants and you finish 1st you receive 100 points. For 2nd you would get 99. If another 25k has 50 participants and you finish 1st you receive 50 points. If you were 4th you would get 47.)
The male and female with the highest points at the end of the season will receive a custom award/prize. Also the male and female with the highest points in the Grand Masters age group of 50+ will receive custom awards/prizes.
