About Colton's Main Street Run
The date is set for the 16th annual Colton's Main Street Run. The Run is held in memory of Colton Sherrill, son of Trace and Dena Sherrill. The 10-year old athlete and Durant Main Street volunteer passed away 17 years ago while playing basketball from an unknown heart defect.
The proceeds will be used to provide education in Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation and use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED's), to provide emergency equipment, including but not limited to AEDs, for use by schools and communities, to fund higher education scholarships, and community projects. To date the proceeds have benefited our community as follows:
- 182 AEDs purchased for area schools and the community-provided training and yearly supplies for schools.
- Donated 645 Stop the Bleed Kits to area schools.
Donated 74 LifeVac Choking Rescue Devices to area schools. - Purchased bleachers for Colton's Field and player benches for other soccer fields at Durant Sports Complex. In 2022, we purchased 2 new soccer goals and nets.
- Donated $25,000 to county schools to purchase PPE.
- Helped purchase Lucas 2 Chest Compression System with Bryan County EMS.
- Endowed Colton Sherrill Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southeastern Oklahoma State University providing 44 scholarships to area students
- Created the Crooked Smile Trail in partnership with Southeastern Oklahoma State University for local cross-country teams and the public. In 2024, we donated $10,000 for the bridge project.
- 2 - ADA Wheelchair Swing Sets at Durant City Parks
- Durant Main Street Revitalization Impact in 2024 - 831 volunteer hours and $618,400 reinvested in Durant Main Street
- CPR and AED classes in partnership with Bryan County EMS.
In 2024, we provided $74,000 in grants and community support to fund health and safety projects in Oklahoma.

COLTON'S STORY
Colton was a shy boy who had the cutest little “crooked smile”. Many teachers, coaches and parents worked hard to get Colton to interact with them and after much prodding, they were usually rewarded with his trade mark “crooked smile.”
Anyone who knew Colton knew he was an avid Oklahoma Sooner’s fan. He wore Sooner red with pride, complete with official OU football helmet. One time, he and a friend were accused of high-jacking a neighbor’s OSU flag following a Sooner victory over OSU. The flag mysteriously reappeared a few days later.
Colton would have been such an OKC Thunder Fan and would be so excited that they are champions!

OK Runner will be set up during the Early Packet Pickup on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 12:00 - 7:30 PM and ready to assist with your running shoe needs. If you are new to running or have not ever been professionally fitted, we highly recommend that you talk to the OK Runner staff and let them professionally fit you in the correct running shoe. They are traveling all the way from Norman, so let's show them how much we appreciate their efforts for our run!
VIRTUAL EVENT
October 13- October 26, 2025
The virtual format allows you to run/walk anytime and any place between October 13, 2025 and October 26, 2025. You can run with your dog, a stroller, on a treadmill, walk or go for a hike. Each registrant will receive a long sleeve Colton's run t-shirt. We will not be giving out awards for the virtual event.
Early Packet Pickup - Friday, October 17, 2025
10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Market Square (2nd and Main) Durant, Oklahoma - If you live within a 30 mile radius of Durant, OK - please pick up your shirts at Early Packet Pickup or on race day. We will mail shirts outside of the 30 mile radius and for out of state runners.

Parking
Volunteers will assist with parking on race day and the parking map will help you locate designated parking areas. You can also park along Third Street between Main and Evergreen Streets.
Please do not park in front of the Main Street businesses; they will be open on race day and we need to save those parking spots for their patrons.
