Daniel Feather Memorial 5K

On Saturday, September 6th Chautauqua Striders will host the 2025 Daniel Feather Memorial 5K Race and Walk. The event raises money to support youth programming and a scholarship named after our later co-founder. Daniel Feather and Ron Graham co-founded the Chautauqua Striders in 1979, and served as a volunteer coach for several years. Proceeds from the Daniel Feather Memorial 5K help keep Chautauqua Striders’ athletic programs accessible and affordable for all youth. Since 1979, Chautauqua Striders has been committed to helping young people reach their fullest potential on the track, in the classroom and in life. Proceeds also go toward the Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship. The Daniel Feather Memorial 5K is a part of our 2026 Runner of the Year Series, sponsored by KeyBank and UPMC Chautauqua.

Check-in and day of registration will start at 9:00 AM the day of the race. The race will start at 10:00 AM. There is a 5K run division, a 5k walk division, and a separate division for Jamestown police officers. Graduating High School Seniors (Class of 2026) are eligible for the Daniel Feather Memorial Scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship, you must participate in the Dan Feather Memorial 5K (walk, run, or volunteer). Contact Lexi@chqstriders.org with any questions or inquiries.

The Daniel Feather scholarship honors the legacy of Daniel Feather, co-founder of Chautauqua Striders and a dedicated Jamestown police officer. Awarded annually, the scholarship supports local students who exemplify strong character, community involvement, and commitment to achieving their academic and personal goals.
