About Drew Ceppetelli Turkey Trot
This is a 5k race in memory of Drew Ceppetelli who passed away on Thanksgiving morning. This is an event that honors her life and raises funds for a scholarship in her name. This is a way for friends, family, and community members to come together and remember her while raising money for a fund used for people to better themselves, a cause that was important to her.
The race is an untimed event, which means that participants can run or walk the course at their own pace. The course is designed to be beginner-friendly, with mostly flat terrain, and is suitable for all fitness levels.
Participants can register for the race in advance below or on the day of the event between 8 and 9 AM. Donations for the scholarship fund can be made during registration or on the day of the event. Participants are encouraged to wear pink shirts (either those made for the 5k or something similar).
The 5k race is more than just a run. It's an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate a life that was tragically cut short. It's a chance to remember a young woman who touched the lives of so many and to honor her memory by supporting a cause that was important to her.

Pre-Registration vs Day-of Registration
The cost to register on race morning is $35. Save yourself $5 by pre-registering! It helps race morning go smoother for all. Thank you! :)
Deferrals / Refunds / Transfers
We understand your request and will always be sorry to hear of injuries, unexpected circumstances, and work schedule changes; however; there are no refunds, deferrals, or transfer of entries to other individuals. Our race is a memorial event; all proceeds go directly to the DrewCepp Memorial Fund, a 501c non-profit. Thank you for your support!
Event Cancellation Policy
In the case of lightning, severe rain, wind, or any other condition that affects the potential safety of the participants, spectators, and volunteers, the event may be canceled. The Race Director shall have absolute authority to make changes in order to best serve the interests and safety of the participants of the event. No refunds will be issued if the event is canceled.
Are Dogs Allowed?
Friendly dogs are allowed on the race course as long as they are leashed at all times. Please be courteous and pick up after your pets both on the race course as well as on the BYA grounds. Thank you!!
Bathrooms
The only bathrooms available at the race site are porta-potties. They are brought in new, just for this event, so they are clean and fresh each year for this race.
Is this course certified?
No. While we did measure the race course using GPS and other tracking services, this is not a certified course. This event is truly a memorial race for our friend Drew, however, we are trying to make this event as authentic as possible for racers.
Event T-shirts
The first 200 racers will get a free T-shirt but we cannot guarantee sizing.
Race Prizes
We are sorry, but this is a memorial event and there are no prizes. All proceeds will go directly to the DrewCepp Memorial Fund, a 501c non-profit.
Raffle Prizes
After the race, we will pull tickets to determine our raffle ticket winners. You must be present to win.
Race Numbers
Race numbers were not assigned first-come, first-serve (in case you thought you could tell who registered early!). While there are a few race numbers that are specific to our race team, most were assigned alphabetically once pre-reg was over.
Parking
There is ample parking at the BYA Fields, however, we ask you to pay attention to our parking assistants who will help maximize the space we have.

Race Day Preparation
Those who have signed up are encouraged to attend our pre-registration option at Barrington Elementary School on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 5-7 PM in the gymnasium.
ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY NIGHT AT 11:59 PM. Anyone who wishes to register after this has two opportunities: at the pre-registration night on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Barrington Elementary School or on Race day morning from 8-9 AM (but keep in mind, only the first 200 registrants get a shirt and that milestone is typically met during online pre-registration).
Race Shirts will be given to those who were in the first 200 to register, however, shirts will not be available for purchase until race day. Shirt sizes will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we encourage participants to attend the pre-registration night on Wednesday if they are able. Those interested will be able to purchase shirts Thursday morning starting at 8:30 AM for $15 (just to cover the price of production).
Also, we are asking those who are running or walking to wear any costumes they’d like (Thanksgiving costumes were a favorite last year), any old dress attire you’d be willing to run in, or any pink you have. Thank you all for contributing to this event!
