Finger Lakes Triathlon Cayuga is located in the The Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, home to a number of world famous wineries. Taughannock Falls State Park, about 8 miles north of Ithaca, provides a picturesque setting for the whole family to enjoy the triathlon, along with public swimming, a playground, shaded picnic areas and hiking trails. Tent, RV and cabin camping is available, and the Park maintains a marina with a boat ramp for access to Cayuga Lake. The park is an excellent spot for families with a beach and swim area and large playground.

INTERMEDIATE DISTANCE 1500 meter swim, 24.3 mile bike, 10K runSwim: 1500 meter swim in Cayuga Lake (out and back course) – South Shore of the Park.
- Bike (map): 24.3 miles heading north on NYS RTE. 89 to Sheldrake and back.
TFSP/NYS Rte. 89 to Co. Rd. 141 (Right turn; about 9 miles)Co. Rd. 141 to Co. Rd. 153 (bear left at bottom of hill next to lake shore)
Co. Rd. 153 to Co. Rd. 139 (left turn at intersection/4 way stop)
Co. Rd. 139 to NYS Rte. 89 (left turn) and return to Taughannock Falls State Park - Run (map): 10K (two loops) in the Park including up the Gorges Trail to the Falls and back. Note: the map shows a huge elevation gain, but this is an artifact of the mapping software. The run route is relatively flat, following only Taughannock’s base trail.
- INTERMEDIATE AQUABIKE: 1500m swim and 24.3mi bike only!
SPRINT DISTANCE 750 meter swim, 14 mile bike, 5K runSwim: 750 meter swim in Cayuga Lake (out and back course) – South Shore of the Park.
- Bike (map): 14 miles heading north on NYS RTE. 89, then back to the Park.From Taughannock Falls State Park the Sprint bike course heads north on NYS Rte. 89 for about 7 miles. The turn around is at the corner of NYS Rte. 89 and Hickok Road. After the turn around cyclists will head south on NYS Rte. 89 back to Taughannock Falls State Park.
- Run (map): 5K (one loop) in the Park including up the Gorges Trail to the Falls and back. Note: the map shows a huge elevation gain, but this is an artifact of the mapping software. The run route is relatively flat, following only Taughannock’s base trail.
YOUTH DISTANCE 200 meter swim,9 mile bike, 1.5 mile runSwim: 200 meter swim in Cayuga Lake (out and back course) – South Shore of the Park
- Bike (map): 9 miles heading north on NYS RTE. 89, then back to the Park.From Taughannock Falls State Park the Youth bike course heads north on NYS Rte. 89 for about 4.5 miles. The turn around is at the Scenic Pull-0ff (near Booth Road) and NYS Rte. 89. After the turn around cyclists will head south on NYS Rte. 89 back to Taughannock Falls State Park.
- Run (map): 1.5 miles in the Park up to the NY89 Bridge and back.
Relay Teams
Each relay team member must register themselves, accept the waiver, and fulfill USAT Membership requirements.
Steps for on-line registration:
1) team captain registers as the first person on the team
- select relay registration category
- team captain creates the team name and pays the entire entry fee.
2) team members register for the race and join the team:
- select relay registration category
- select the team name from list of already registered teams
- complete the registration process with NO payment due
